2025 School Board Election
Applications Due Aug. 25 - Sept. 18
Serving on a school board is a challenging job that requires leadership, vision and dedication. A school board member is entrusted with one of the most important responsibilities that can be assigned to a citizen: ensuring that Iowa schools help students reach high levels of educational achievement.
Four positions on the Bettendorf Board of Education are up for election on November 4: three four-year terms, and one two-year term. Learn more
Emergency Preparedness for Families
The safety and security of Bettendorf Community School District students and staff is of utmost importance. The district has a comprehensive crisis plan developed in cooperation with Bettendorf police and local emergency management agencies. The plan is reviewed and updated annually.
Our schools also have well-established security measures for the safety of students and staff including: visitor check-in procedures, locked doors after the start of the school day, surveillance cameras, and police liaison officer support.
Prevention & Preparedness
Keep your emergency contact information up-to-date.
Be sure to contact your school office with any questions you have about school safety!
Download the Safe and Sound app to report concerns anonymously - SafeandSoundIowa.gov
District Emergency Communications
- The district will initiate communication through: Infinite Campus: text, email, phone
- District/school websites
- Social media: Facebook and Twitter (X)
In an Emergency
- Keep phone lines open for emergency responders.
- Please do not call the school. You will receive a message from the district/school as soon as information is available.
- Do not call your child’s cell phone. Depending on the situation, a phone call could impact the safety of our students and staff.
- Do not drive to the school unless the district has contacted you to pick up your student. School access routes and entrance areas need to remain clear for emergency vehicles.
- Picking Up Your Student from Family Reunification? Bring a photo ID for verification.
Seeking Bandsaw Donation for Student CO₂ Dragster Project
Bettendorf Community - we need your support!
We are seeking a donation of a Bandsaw for our Bettendorf Middle School Industrial Technology Class!
Our students are currently engaged in an exciting hands-on STEM project: designing and building CO₂ dragsters. To support this project and ensure students can safely and accurately shape their car bodies, we are seeking a donation of a bandsaw. Access to this equipment would greatly enhance the learning experience by allowing students to work with precision and develop valuable technical skills.
If you or your organization have a bandsaw (in working condition) that you're willing to donate—or know someone who might—we would be incredibly grateful. Your support would directly impact the education and creativity of our young designers.
Thank you for considering our request. Please contact BCSD Career Readiness Coordinator Haleigh Hoyt (hhoyt@bettendorf.k12.ia.us) if you have any questions or need further information.
