STEAM Event Update

Last week on February 23, Walteria held our STEAM Event to celebrate and display all the STEAM projects created by our Wildcats. All in all 260 students participated in creating inventions or collections with approximately 170 projects. Way to go Wildcats! Thank you to families who braved the rain and hail to come out and support the students. It was a great afternoon celebrating the brightest minds around, and we were gifted by a beautiful rainbow during the tour. A special thank you to our STEAM Event Teacher Coordinators including Miss Calhoun, Mrs. Masi, Ms. Kajima, and Miss Fisher.

Musical Theater is Coming to Walteria

The PTA is bringing musical theater to Walteria for a 10 week program in singing and dancing in grades 1-5. The program runs March 8- May 17 during the school day. Taught by industry experts, Sarah Marie and Joel Sluyter, (bios below) they will provide instruction where students can cultivate their talents, not just as performers, but as people. Students will be working with Ms. Sara and Mr. Joel on learning about vocal performances and learn dances and dance technique. Our goal is to get the students communicating ideas through vocal and physical means all while having fun and learning something new. The 10 week series will culminate in a live performance that families are invited to attend! This performance currently scheduled for May 15 from 9:10 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
