Osseo Area Schools gears up for 2026-27 school year
District schools can't wait to open its doors once again to students, families and staff for what's sure to be an incredible year of growth and connection!
Reminder: New attendance boundaries to go into effect
New attendance boundaries go into effect at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year, and plans are underway for a smooth transition at each school. Impacted families were notified of these changes last winter, but boundary schools can be verified with the district's School Finder tool.
Students relocating can expect a similar educational experience across district schools, with shared goals for academic rigor and a welcoming environment at all sites. For additional information on the attendance boundary change process, check out osseoschools.org/boundaries. For questions, please reach out to BetterFuture@district279.org or 763-391-8990.
Building a Better Future projects continuing across district
Nine sites around Osseo Area Schools are currently undergoing construction, courtesy of the 2023 Building a Better Future bond referendum. District social media has featured a different project each week throughout the summer - check them out at facebook.com/OsseoSchools.
Reminder: New StudentVUE/ParentVUE apps available now
The familiar ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps used by Osseo Area Schools have gotten an updated look. As previous versions of the apps stopped working June 30, please take a moment to download the new apps if you have not done so already, which can be found under the names “StudentVUE (New)” or “ParentVUE (New)”. The developer is Edupoint Educational Systems.
The new StudentVUE/ParentVUE apps feature a more intuitive, user-friendly design with new and improved functionality, such as event security passes and improvements to attendance reporting options.
Safe Routes to School grant brings sidewalks to streets near Park Brook Elementary School
Thanks to a Safe Routes to School grant with the City of Brooklyn Park and Osseo Area Schools, sidewalks are being installed along several streets around Park Brook Elementary School to ensure students walking to school have a safe path.
These grant partnerships are just one example of the district's ongoing collaboration with local city governments to create opportunities for enhanced safety, learning and fun for all students.
Maple Grove Senior High School students find success at Health Occupations Students of America's international conference
Seven Maple Grove Senior High School students attended the Health Occupations Students of America-Future Health Professionals (HOSA-FHP)'s International Leadership Conference June 17-20 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Against thousands of competitors from around the world, two of these students, Ameya Bhaskar and Oluwaseunfunmi Olapade, placed fifth in the Public Health competition.
Additionally, another participant, Emma Joseph, was recently elected as the Minnesota HOSA Vice President of Engagement, a position she will serve during the 2026-27 school year, representing her school at the state and international level.
HOSA-FHP is one of many ways Osseo Area Schools' high school students can take part in career-focused clubs, classes and programming as they prepare for their next steps after graduation.
