Converse ES All Stars: Growing Together, Achieving More!
Week of October 20, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Converse ES All-Star Community,
We hope this message finds you well and enjoying the fall season! At Converse Elementary, we continue to live out our school motto of Converse ES All Stars: Growing Together, Achieving More!
We’re excited to invite you to our Fall Festival this Friday, October 24, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Due to ongoing construction at our campus, the event will be held at Coronado Village Elementary School. It will be a fun-filled evening for the whole family, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Fall Parent Conferences are currently underway. Our teachers are reaching out to schedule meetings with families to discuss student progress and goals. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to strengthen the home-school connection and support your child’s success.
As we begin a new grading period, we are grateful for your continued partnership. Together, we are working to ensure every student grows academically, socially, and emotionally.
Thank you for being an essential part of our All Star community!
Sincerely,
Miriam Huerta
Converse ES Principal

Character Trait of the Month
Throughout the year, staff will be recognizing students who demonstrate different character traits each month. At the end of each month, teachers will select one student from their class who has best exemplified that month's trait to be celebrated and awarded a certificate in recognition of their character.
October's Character Trait: Courage
Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's the willingness to act despite feeling fear or uncertainty. For children, everyday courage looks like:
Trying something new (like a challenging math problem).
Admitting a mistake or apologizing.
Speaking up or standing up for what's right.
Trying again after a setback or disappointment.
Help your child practice everyday courage with these simple steps:
Validate, then Encourage: Acknowledge their fear ("It sounds like you're nervous"), but shift the focus to action ("It's okay to be nervous, let's practice it together anyway!").
Focus on Effort, Not Outcome: Praise the courageous act of trying, regardless of the result. Use language like, "I'm so proud of you for having the courage to try out," or "It took guts to raise your hand and give it a shot!"
Share Your Own Courage: Share age-appropriate examples of when you had to step out of your comfort zone or apologize for a mistake.
