Halloween Parade

For your planning purposes, the Halloween parade is scheduled for 10/31 at 10:15am. More details will be shared in the upcoming weeks.

Toys in Schools

Students should not be bringing in items from home such as toys unless instructed by their teacher to do so.

Dogs at drop-off and pick up

The only area in which leashed dogs are permitted on school grounds is in the back on the far grass. This allows ample space for our students who are scared of dogs to stay on the back patio without interacting with dogs. NO DOGS are permitted in the front during drop-off and pick-up.If you prefer to bring your dog to pick-up or drop-off, please change your default plan and pick up your child in the back of the building.

Cell phones and Smart Watches

Cell phones and Smartwatches must be stored in backpacks during the school day. Students should be using the main office phone or nurses office phone to communicate home if needed.

Attendance

A reminder regarding student attendance: Per Mendham Borough Board of Education regulation 5200, "A day in session shall consist of not less than four hours, exclusive of recess and lunch periods." A student who arrives late or leaves early and does not meet the four hour minimum will be marked absent. Students must be present for a full day (at least 4 hours of instruction)

Pick Up Patrol

Please note that any changes regarding your child’s dismissal plan MUST be entered in Pick-Up Patrol. After 1:00 p.m. any changes must be called into the main office. Staff will send your child to the designated area as specified in the daily dismissal report

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

School attendance is a powerful predictor of student outcomes. New Jersey defines chronic absenteeism as missing 10% (18 days) or more of school days during the school year.
