SES WEEKLY UPDATE
January 9, 2026
Dear God,
Thank You for bringing us safely to a new school year in 2026.
Thank You for our school, our teachers, our families,
and all the new opportunities to learn and grow.
Please help us be kind and respectful to everyone we meet.
Help us try our best, even when learning feels hard.
Give our teachers patience, wisdom, and joy as they help us learn.
Help our classrooms be places of safety, friendship, and fun.
Guide our words and actions so we make good choices each day.
When we feel nervous or unsure, remind us that we are not alone.
Thank You for caring for us and watching over our school.
Bless this year with learning, laughter, and peace.
Amen.
Welcome Back
Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had a wonderful and restful Christmas break. As we look ahead to an exciting January filled with upcoming events such as our Read-A-Thon and hosting the Gr. 5 Basketball Tournament, we would like to let you know that Mrs. Rose McQuay will be serving as Acting Principal for the next few weeks while Mr. Kelly is on medical leave. Should you have any questions or concerns during this time, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Counselling
A message from our school counsellor…
Ease your child back into routines gradually—start adjusting bedtimes, wake-up times, and daily schedules a few days before school resumes. Talk with them about what to expect at school and set aside time to listen to any concerns. Keeping routines predictable and offering reassurance helps children feel calm, focused, and ready to learn.
Student Support
Read-A-Thon
This year’s Read-A-Thon will run from January 19 to February 6. We will kick off the event with a special assembly in the gym on January 19 @ 9:00 AM, which will coincide with Storybook Character Day and an opportunity for students to read alongside their faith buddies.
We are looking forward to celebrating the love of reading while working together to support our School Council.

Hot Lunch Reminders
While our school buses are almost always on time, the winter months and snowy road conditions can lead to delays for your child’s school bus. To stay notified of your child’s bus status, please see the following links for ways to check on bus times. The App has been refreshed and is now called Bus Status 4. Please reinstall the app if you still have the older version.
St. Elizabeth Seton School Website
Bus status can be found on the main page of our website. It will display if a bus is on-time, delayed, or cancelled. There will often be a comment next to the delayed buses indicating how long the bus delay is. Click the title above to link to our website.
