Ott's Outlook
December 2025
I hope that everyone had a wonderful and relaxing break over the Thanksgiving holiday and is ready for a strong finish to close out 2025. The break gave me an opportunity to spend time with my family and reflect on the many things I am grateful for in our district and our community.
I am extremely grateful for your support of Temple ISD during Election 2025. Your input and feedback help develop both propositions and with your support, Proposition A passed with 59 percent of the vote and Proposition B passed with 57 percent of the vote. These results became official when our Board of Trustees canvassed the vote on November 17th.
I am also extremely grateful for our board, district and campus administrators, teachers, and staff members who work so hard each and every day to build trust in the community and deliver a product that our community and stakeholders can believe in and be proud of.
Now it is time for the district to turn its attention to the next steps for implementing the measures and projects included in Propositions A and B. We will begin delivering on these projects as soon as possible, while finishing up the 2022 Bond.
For Proposition A, we will begin making purchases for the hardening of facilities. Those purchases include fire alarms, impact-resistant window film, perimeter/courtyard fencing, cybersecurity upgrades and security cameras. These purchases will take place in the next several months. Temple ISD will also be adding 10 police officers over the next four years. We are working with the City of Temple to line out the required training for officers and prioritize elementary campuses for the order of police officer phase-in.
For Proposition B, the next steps are the hiring of construction firms, the sale of bonds to fund projects, assignment of projects to both architects and construction management teams, and the district’s production of a tentative construction timeline. All of these steps should take place during the 2025-2026 school year with the initial request for proposals from construction firms already underway.
Temple ISD has also created two webpages so that we can keep you updated with our progress on Proposition B. Both of those webpages are now live as tabs on our existing Election 2025 website. In the navigation bar on the Election 2025 landing page, you will see a link for Proposed Bond Projects and a link for Bond Project Implementation. The Proposed Bond Projects page includes a list of all projects included in Bond 2025 along with brief descriptions of those projects. The Bond Project Implementation page includes an estimated timeline and will also be the location for project updates. Those updates will include renderings and/or photos of each project as those become available. We will continue to update that page throughout the process of completing Bond 2025.
I wanted to thank you once again for your overwhelming support not only for the two propositions included in Election 2025, but also your continued support of our district, out students, our staff, and our families. We are truly fortunate to be part of a community that supports their public schools and our children and believes in the work we are doing as a district. Temple ISD will continue to keep you informed and maintain your trust in the district.
Sincerely,
Bobby Ott
