Step Up Day

On Thursday, our students participated in Step Up Day, where they had the opportunity to visit next year’s teachers and learn more about their upcoming grade level. It was such a fun and exciting experience for our Panthers! Students received letters from current students, met their future teachers, explored new classrooms, and learned about the many wonderful experiences awaiting them next year. It was a great way to build excitement and confidence as we look ahead to another magical year at Prospect!

As I mentioned in April, some grade levels will be shifting from 2 to 3 sections or from 3 to 2 sections next school year. With these shifts comes some grade level changes for staff members as we work to thoughtfully balance classrooms and continue providing the best possible learning experiences for our students.

Here is who your children visited during Step Up Day on Thursday:

Kindergarten: Mrs. Abitz, Mrs. Bergin, Mrs. Wheeler
First Grade: Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Kapotas, Mrs. Litman
Second Grade: Mrs. Nolin and Ms. Mundt
Third Grade: Ms. Palumbo, Mrs. Segovia, and Mrs. Shramovich
Fourth Grade: Mrs. Matt and Ms. Rediger
Fifth Grade: Mrs. Bauer, Mrs. Legner, and Ms. Tweedie

We are so proud of how excited, respectful, and engaged our students were during their visits. We cannot wait to see all of the growth, learning, and magical moments that await them next year!

Our fifth grade students had so much fun visiting the Kindergarten classrooms during Step Up Day! They loved seeing their old Kindergarten pictures, playing Prospect-themed games, using Play-Doh, painting, and reminiscing about their early years at Prospect. The experience brought so many smiles and special memories for both our oldest and youngest Panthers.

In fact, several fifth graders asked me if they could do activities like this more often, and a few even joked that they would rather do this than social studies! It was such a wonderful reminder of the strong sense of community and connection we have at Prospect. Once a Panther, always a Panther!
