ART WARS!

Students from Ms. Titze's art classes have been extra busy the last few weeks prepping for the Art Wars, held at NSU in Aberdeen last Friday. Art Wars is a one-day experience where students from all over the region compete in two of the five available categories, which include drawing, painting, photography, digital design, and pottery.

Students get just under two hours to create a piece of artwork in their chosen material. They find out their theme/prompt when they arrive, and have to come up with an idea, create their project, and write an artist's statement within the time limit. Students in the top three places in each category move on to compete at the state level. Receiving honorable mention from Sisseton were Kennedy Heminger in drawing, Naveah Azure in painting, and Jurae Adams in Ceramics.

Pictured below are students in Comprehensive Creative Art showing off the cardboard sculptures that they designed, put together and then decorated.
