The Dawg Dispatch is our weekly snapshot of life as a Bulldawg, straight facts, clear wins, and what’s next, so families and staff can pull in the same direction. It reflects our mission:

“The mission of the Aberdeen School District is to inspire ALL students to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and productive members of society.”

Our biology students have been hands-on, learning to calibrate scales and measure materials with precision. Before diving into their “Eggsperiment,” students weighed each item both before and after the activity to understand the importance of accurate data collection.

The “Eggsperiment” uses simple eggs to explore big scientific ideas, osmosis, eggshell strength, and acidity, giving students a practical look at how these concepts play out in the real world.

It’s the kind of learning that builds confidence and curiosity, and we’re proud of the work our students are putting in every day.

It was Collegiate Night for these two standout students at the Mississippi Bandmaster’s State Band Clinic in Natchez, MS! They’re stepping into three days filled with music, mentorship, and experiences that will shape their growth as young musicians.

We’re proud to see them representing Aberdeen with poise and talent. They’re in for a real treat, and they’ve earned every bit of it.

Our students read an impressive 571,394 words last week! 📚🐾

This month, our students are celebrating the spirit of Responsibility! As we wrap up the semester and head into the holidays, teachers are helping students take ownership of their actions, stay prepared, and finish the year strong.

Families can join the fun by encouraging simple, responsible habits at home during the holiday season. Together, we’re keeping our students Saddled Up for Success, with responsibility shining as bright as the season!

Our students are gearing up for benchmark assessments, and we’re encouraging every child to give their very best. Hard work matters, and each school is offering its own set of incentives to keep students motivated and moving in the right direction.

As students work hard in the classroom and prepare for upcoming assessments, it’s important they take care of themselves, too. Our school nurses remind families of a few simple habits that make a big difference:

• Hydrate throughout the day — water keeps the mind sharp and energy steady.

• Get proper rest — students who sleep well perform better and feel better.

• Don’t skip breakfast — even a light, healthy start fuels focus.

• Wash hands often — the easiest way to prevent the spread of germs.

• Keep emergency contacts and medical information updated — it ensures quick, accurate care if needed.

Our nurses are here to support every student’s wellbeing so they can stay strong, safe, and ready to learn.

Every Wednesday, we encourage students and staff to wear college shirts! Why? Because seeing those college names and logos reminds our students that higher education is possible for them, whether it’s a school close to home or one across the country. It’s a simple way to spark conversations, plant dreams, and keep students motivated toward their future goals. Let’s show them that the road to college starts right here in Bulldawg Country!
