Dearest CHES Families!

Welcome back to ur 4 day week. As we reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we encourage our community to celebrate his commitment to service, equality, and justice. In honor of Dr. King’s vision, this week is also a Day of Service. We encourage everyone to take a moment to give back to the community and engage in acts of kindness and service, embodying Dr. King’s spirit of making the world a better place for all.

As we enter this pivotal week, we want to remind everyone that it’s not only a week of testing, but also the final week of the 2nd marking period. Time has flown by, and we are incredibly proud of the dedication and effort our students have shown thus far.

Exciting News!

We are thrilled to share that our CHES Science Bowl Team has advanced to the semi-finals! This incredible achievement speaks to the hard work, teamwork, and dedication of our students and their coach - Mr. McCotter. Let’s all celebrate their success and cheer them on as they continue to represent our school with pride!

Also, please be reminded that per PGCPS administrative procedures, make-up work will not and cannot be requested this week.

We are excited for all the milestones we are reaching and we look forward to a successful finish to the second marking period!

Thank you for your continued support. Let’s make this week one to remember!

Stay warm and stay safe...

We are CHES and our cougars climb to new heights! 🐾

Stay Informed:PGCPS Winter Weather Make Up Plan

So far this school year, PGCPS has closed schools for four days due to inclement weather. Below is the plan for making up these instructional days:

MAKE-UP DAY 1: February 14 – This day, originally scheduled as a professional day for teachers, was designated in the school calendar as a potential make-up day. Schools will now be open for students on February 14.

MAKE-UP DAYS 2 - 4: June 16-18 – These three make-up days are built into the 2024-25 school calendar at the end of the school year..

MAKE-UP DAY 5: March 17 (if needed) – If a fifth inclement weather make-up day is needed, March 17 wil be converted to an instructional day.

If inclement weather closings exceed five days, additional school days may need to be scheduled at the end of the school year. We will provide updates as needed.
