Shepherd Elementary Weekly Update

Staff and students had a great four day week. Students were welcomed this morning by our Varsity Football Team who have their first home game tonight against Alma at 7pm. Just a reminder that we do not have school tomorrow August 28th or Monday September 1st. Have a great weekend!

Use the PikMyKid app to select your student's mode of pick up

Use this app to connect with your student's teacher

Have your student exit and enter the vehicle on the right side only
Staff can't buckle your student. You will need to pull ahead and park to buckle your student.
Have your PikMyKid app open or your pink car tag visible or you will have to come into the office

Be sure to check out your student's Friday Folder for the PTO fundraising packet. This fundraiser raises money pays for monthly popcorn for all students, field day, field trips, assemblies, classroom supplies, etc.

Drop-off and End of Day Dismissal Reminder

Just a reminder to parents and guardians that we have various modes available for student pickup. Please utilize the most appropriate pick-up method for your student.

Drop-off: Please make sure your student is NOT being dropped off on Maple St. as this is not a drop-off location. Please make sure students are being taken to the main elementary entrance.

Dismissal: We begin dismissal at 2:50pm and make our way to where students need to go at the end of the day. If your students' pick-up mode needs to be changed, please change it on the app before 2:15pm. Teachers will follow what PikMyKid says at that time.

Pick-Up Modes

Independent Walker: Able to walk independently to their after school destination (home, daycare, etc.). Will be released on Maple Street at 3:05. There will be a crossing guard from 3:05-3:15.

Walk-up Pick-up: Picked up at the front entrance doors, beginning at 2:50. Must have a pick-up tag or the PikMyKid app available.

Car Line: Picked up in the car line, beginning at 2:50. Must have a pick-up tag or the PikMyKid app available.

Bus: Student will be taken to the designated bus # in PikMyKid. Parents have the responsibility to give drop off information to the transportation department.

iRIDE: Students will be taken to the bus. Parents have the responsibility to arrange transportation with iRide.

WAAC: After school program located in the elementary. *Must be enrolled in the program. Parents have the responsibility to change dismissal mode in PikMyKid when WAAC is not available.

Drop-off Reminder

For SES Elementary pick-up and drop-off, please follow the blue arrows. Please do not drive south on 4th St. off to Wright Ave, instead use either 2nd or 3rd Street. Both of these streets will lead you to the appropriate location to access the pick-up/drop-off line. We will have staff waiting at the elementary loop to assist students entering and exiting your vehicle. Our top priority is student safety.

Water Bottles

When sending a water bottle with your student please make sure they are plastic or metal. Please NO GLASS water bottles.

If you have not yet logged into FinalForms to update and to sign forms, please do so.

3 Hour Delay

As we prepare for the 25-26 school year, we want to inform families that Shepherd Public Schools will now implement 3-hour delays in place of 2-hour delays when appropriate.

Here's how a 3-hour delay will work:

-School Doors Open: 10:40 AM

-Power Announcement Sent: 5:30 AM

-If Conditions Worsen, School Would Be Canceled by 8:00 AM

-Lunch will be provided on 3 hour delays

Please Note:

Sub-varsity athletic events will be canceled on school closing days unless they are part of a combination game with a varsity team. We will begin making decisions about practices, games, and other school activities at 12:00pm. We appreciate your flexibility as we prioritize student and staff safety while maximizing learning time.
