Principal's News
Several weeks ago, Martinson students had a special visit from Mr. Raymond’s MHS students, who shared their impressive original books with our classes. Inspired by their visit, Ms. Morahan’s class invited them back to hear McDonald’s Great Escape, a fun and creative class book that each student helped write. It was a fantastic celebration of storytelling and a wonderful moment of young authors sharing their work with older role models!

Miles for Miracles Jog-a-thon
Thank You! We’re proud to share that our Miles for Miracles Jog-a-thon raised over $5,000 for the Dion Foundation, which supports research for childhood neuromuscular diseases. A huge thank you to our generous families, the PTO, and local sponsors: John S. Morahan Electrician LLC, Mass Bay Credit Union, and Three Z Salon for making this event a success! Every dollar goes directly to the Dion Foundation’s mission of ensuring no child is left behind.

Nurse's News
Seasonal Allergies: often called hay fever or allergic rhinitis, affect millions of children and adults each year. These allergies are triggered by airborne pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds during certain times of the year. Common symptoms include sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itchy eyes, throat, or ears, and coughing. For students, these symptoms can impact concentration, attendance, and overall well-being.
Stay informed about daily pollen levels through weather websites or apps.
Stay indoors during peak pollen times, usually early morning and windy days.
Keep windows closed at home and in the car to prevent pollen from entering.
Shower and change clothes after outdoor activities to remove pollen from hair and skin.
Hydration: Proper hydration helps regulate body temperature, maintain energy levels, and support overall bodily functions. Dehydration can lead to fatigue, dizziness, and more serious health issues such as heat exhaustion or heatstroke.
Sun Safety: As the weather warms up, outdoor activities become more enticing. Remind your child to apply sunscreen before heading outside to protect against harmful UV rays. Encourage the use of hats and sunglasses for added protection, especially during peak sun hours.
If you have any concerns about your child's health, or illnesses that may occur during the school year, please notify the school nurse at 781-319-3985.

Library News
This week in the library we ended the year with a humorous picture book: "Dragons Love Tacos 2" by Adam Rubin. We also had fun writing our own silly stories with mad libs. We used some of our favorite nouns, verbs, and adjectives that we learned over the course of the school year to create stories that made us giggle. The last day of school is quickly approaching, please be sure to return library books.
PTO
As we close out the year, the MES PTO would like to send a big thank you to all the parents, guardians, teachers, and staff who supported the PTO and our school community throughout the year. Your time, energy, and generosity made a lasting impact, and we are very grateful!
