Message to Families Message to Families

Middle and High School Families,

As we return from a well-deserved winter break and step into 2026, I am reflecting on the incredible energy that filled our halls throughout December both during the school day and outside of it. It was a month defined by community, talent, and a shared commitment to excellence that truly highlighted the best of our school spirit. Watching our students and staff come together reminded me of why this community is such a special place.

Our December calendar was packed with moments of pride, beginning with the resounding success of our Bowls for Hunger charity event. Thanks to your overwhelming community support, we were able to continue the success of this annual event, making it bigger than ever! This spirit of excellence continued with the official induction of our newest members into the National Honor Society, where we celebrated students who embody scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Congrats to all of our newest members! I am excited to see all of what you accomplish as you move forward! Furthermore, both our Choir and Band holiday concerts provided a spectacular showcase of talent; the dedication required to produce music at that level is immense, and the festive atmosphere they created was the perfect way to conclude the year.

I want to thank our technology department for their hard effort over winter break. You will notice some repurposed TVs being used throughout our building to communicate better information

and provide an avenue to celebrate our the wonderful things occurring at our building!

Looking ahead to January, our focus shifts toward a strong finish to the semester. As we are currently in the final stretch of the first semester, this is a critical time for students to remain focused. I encourage all students to advocate for themselves, clear up any lingering assignments, and prepare diligently for their final assessments. This is the moment to turn a semester of hard work into a successful set of final grades. By maintaining a steady work ethic over the next few weeks, our students will ensure they head into the second half of the year with confidence and momentum.

While we finish the current term, we are also beginning the vital work of planning for the 2026–2027 school year. January marks the start of our scheduling season, a time when students begin to think critically about their academic paths and long-term goals. In the coming weeks, we will provide updated information regarding course offerings and elective options to help families make informed decisions. We want every student to be intentional about their choices, selecting a schedule that both challenges them and aligns with their future aspirations. It is an exciting time of transition, and I look forward to working with you to ensure a smooth conclusion to this semester and a bright start to the next.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Ramcheck

Thank you to Bradie Ewing and Jared Abbrederis, Wisconsin raised former NFL players for speaking to our student body about their experiences growing up in a small town and resulting success in life! Thank you to our Booster club for sponsoring this event for our students!

ACT Prep Starting Second Semester ACT Prep Starting Second Semester

As we begin to look forward to the rest of the school year, our juniors will begin to look towards the ACT. The ACT with writing exam is mandated for all eleventh grade students as the Wisconsin's accountability assessment. We will be using the same ACT Prep program as in past years, "On to College".

We will be starting this program after the semester change on January 26th and continuing it right up until the test date. The prep sessions consist of video lessons regarding the topics present on the ACT, followed by quizzes and activities that correlate with the video lesson. The lessons cover English, Math, Science, Reading, and Writing and are adjusted for the updates that occurred to the ACT this past year. By the end of the course, students have covered all topics they will potentially encounter on the exam. Our goal is to ensure that all juniors here at Westfield are prepared with the tools they need to succeed on the upcoming test. We have had plenty of past success using this program here at our district and hope to continue this along!

Attendance Email Reminder Attendance Email Reminder

As a quick reminder from last month and to help spread more awareness, we recently had added another option to streamline our attendance processes in the Middle/High School. I know many people are starting to use this and it appears to be working smooth.

If you would like to try it out, simply click on the link on our website or email the office at:

whsattendance@westfieldpioneers.org

When you send an email, please mention your student's name, grade, and the reason for the absence.

This is checked daily and provides additional options for communication. Please reach out if you have any questions. Our phone line will still continue to work, this simply helps along the process for our secretaries in the morning for ensuring accurate records.
