News & Updates

Hello CELC & MVLA Families,

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and everyone who plays a positive "mother" role to someone. I am blessed to have witnessed and/or experienced the extraordinary love from adoptive mothers, step-mothers, bonus moms, deployed moms, aunts, grandmas, family friends, single dads, new moms, moms-to-be, and moms that have lost. I wish all of you the brightest and most beautiful day celebrating each other. Thinking of you all today, especially those that are struggling with a recent loss.

Thank you to everyone for making AUSD Staff Appreciation Week so special: students, parents, PTA, Alpine Taco Shop, Native Dreams Spa, and East County Schools Federal Credit Union. We were definitely spoiled throughout the week.

What a treat it was to have our annual "May the Fourth be with You" visit from our friendly, bilingual Stormtrooper. Thank you for bringing your Boba Fett buddy with you! The students and staff enjoyed your visit. We were able to capture some great photos. My personal favorite is of Boba Fett playing basketball.

If you haven't checked the weather report, you may want to look. The forecast says that we will have highs in the low 60s at the beginning of the week and it will be in the high 80s and low 90s Friday and Saturday. Please plan your child's wardrobe accordingly :).

COVID-19 Testing

CovX will continue to provide COVID testing in the Shadow Hills parking lot on Wednesdays only from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. AUSD staff will be prioritized to move to the front of the line.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR CovX TESTING

CovX has notified us that the government testing reimbursements have changed the required information for patient testing. Please see below.

Human Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) will no longer be able to reimburse covid tests, therefore tests will now only go through insurance providers or a cash price. We unfortunately will not be able to run tests until we can confirm patient insurance information. We understand the difficulties in the transition, so we are available to assist with information submission or creating new patient registration forms.

This change will be effective for any samples received on 3/22/2022 and moving forward.

CUBS IN THE COMMUNITY

The Cubs in the Community tradition continues this school year. Mrs. RIpke's goal is to connect with 100 Cubs (Future, Former, or Current) by the 100th day of school. Building relationships with our students is important to us! If you see Mrs. Ripke out in the community, encourage your student to say hi. Not only does it create an opportunity to connect, it also supports students' language and communication skills. Follow the sightings on our FB page. Feel free to share our postings to spread the word. Mrs. Ripke looks out for future, current, and former Cubs. Check out one of the latest Cub sightings below.
