This Week's Recap
We are delighted to share that this week has been a very productive one at our school! Our students and staff have been working hard and making great progress in English Language Arts, math, science, and social studies.
In ELA, students have been building strong reading and writing skills, exploring new stories, and practicing their vocabulary. In math, they have been sharpening their problem-solving abilities and working with numbers and patterns. Our science lessons have sparked curiosity as students learned about the natural world and conducted fun experiments. Meanwhile, in social studies, students have been discovering more about their communities and the world around them.
- Fourth grade students enjoyed three full days of learning and fun during their visit to the Farm at F1S, where they explored everything from the greenhouse to enjoying a nutritious lunch.
- Kindergarten students are doing a good job reading at home and getting reading logs signed. They are practicing sight words and mastering math facts.
- Grades 1 and 4 worked hard to master the standards for their math module test.
Thank you to our dedicated teachers and staff for their hard work, and to our students for their enthusiasm and effort. Let’s keep up this wonderful momentum!
Next Week's Assessments
The purpose of an interim report is to provide timely updates on your child's academic progress. These reports allow parents to monitor student performance, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions to adjust as needed. Interim reports offer very important insight. Please be on the lookout for these reports via email for grades 1-5. Kindergarten will send reports home by students.
Does Your Child Eat Breakfast and Lunch at School?
Nutritious meals provide the energy and focus children need to learn, participate, and thrive throughout the school day. Eating breakfast helps jumpstart your child’s brain and body, improving concentration and mood. We serve hot breakfast from 7-7:30am. After 7:30am, students are allowed to have a bag breakfast.
School lunches are carefully planned to include balanced, healthy options that support growth and sustained energy.
By choosing to have your child eat meals at school, you’re helping ensure they get the nutrition they need to succeed academically and stay active. We appreciate your support in encouraging healthy habits for your child’s well-being and learning.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students healthy and ready to learn!
AR Incentive
Quarter 1 will be over before you know it! Please encourage your child to read at home, read during AR time in class, and take tests. Quarter 1 ends September 29th, and there will be a fun AR Celebration on October 2nd for anyone who meets their AR goal. If you have any questions about their AR progress please don't hesitate to reach out to their teacher.

How Many Sight Words Does Your Child Know?
Fry Sight Words is a list of the most common words your child needs to know. These words will appear in their reading materials more frequently. Sight word recognition is important for each child's reading fluency. Please have your child review the sight words on their level each night. If your child has mastered or recogizes all the words at their grade level, please move to the list for the next grade.
*All kindergarten students should begin working on the 1st 100 words.
