Did you know that the Chelsea Center encourages career exploration by arranging monthly group job shadow trips?

These are the perfect way for students to begin to visualize what various future career paths might look like and carry the added benefits of learning to network and being able to reflect on the experience with a small group. The trips are always free, include lunch, and students are welcome to sign up with a friend. Scroll to the bottom of the newsletter to see all the trips currently planned for the 26-27 school year, and keep reading for details on our first trip coming up 9/24.

Careers in Architecture & Design with PGAV Destinations

Students are invited to join a career exploration trip to architecture & design firm PGAV Destinations on Thursday, September 24 from 11am - 2:30pm. PGAV defines its workforce as "thrill seekers at the drawing board," and works from sketch to reality. This is the creative firm behind exhibits at the Missouri History Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, the Grand Canyon, the Pyramids of Giza, the Biltmore Estate, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Niagara Falls, Kennedy Space Center, PortAventura, and more.

On our visit to PGAV's world headquarters, students will get behind-the-scenes sneak peeks into the everyday operations of careers in architecture and design, as well as meet with related professionals employed by this firm in this industry, including sculptors, illustrators, animators, urban planners, and creative writers. Check out the PGAV’s website to be truly inspired. We encourage students to come out to explore interesting career possibilities and make connections in the field!

Transportation and lunch will be provided; there is no cost for this trip. This trip will count for three A+ job shadow hours, and the excused absence will be arranged with the unit offices. Students should register to attend on GivePulse then come to the Chelsea Center to pick up a permission slip.
