Red Kayak Novel Activities

Upon conclusion of reading the novel Red Kayak, Ms. McLaughlin’s ELA classes annotated the novel, developed higher level, open ended questions, and participated in a Socratic Seminar. The students did an outstanding job in creating thought provoking questions pertaining to deep, moral dilemmas.

Representing FMS at the HS Level

We are very proud of 8th grader Lily Lawas from the Fernwood Avenue Middle School Orchestra! Lily filled in with the EHTHS jazz ensemble, Hapy Accidentals, for the Mainland Jazz Festival. Not only did the ensemble receive a gold medal, but they also scored best rhythm section and soloist! We are so proud of Lily for representing our Fernwood orchestra program, while having a very special opportunity! Congratulations to all!
