I am still smiling thinking about how awesome last week was at each and every one of our schools. You all truly blew me (and so many others) out of the water with your talent, time, and dedication to our students. Dr. Vista Suarez Fletcher is the Regional Director for the USDA and visited Gavit, O'Bannon, and Edison Elementary Schools this past Friday and she was truly blown away by our program. She told Lynn and me that her time with us was the most impressed she has been at schools through-out her career!

It was tough to pick a winner - and there were 3 schools that really seemed to take the contest to the next level - so we had a 3 way tie for 1st place for #NSBW2020 - so congratulations to Edison, Lincoln, and O'Bannon!!! These schools' staff will be able to wear jeans and t-shirts for one week (the kitchen manager will be able to choose the week).

There were also some honorable messages and for that we are rewarded these school kitchen staff with the opportunity to wear jeans + t-shirts for one day (kitchen manager to choose the date). So congratulations to: Hammond High School, Gavit Middle/High School (thank you for being such a fantastic host site for USDA's Regional Director!! I left you all out of the original email I sent last week), and Scott Middle School.

Congratulations to everyone on serving the 31,090 reimbursable school breakfast meals last week! ...and that doesn't even include the Head Start & PACT numbers.

I am so proud of all of you!!!!

I am asking everyone to be very aware of your hand hygiene. Please make sure you are changing your gloves as often as you should be and scrubbing your hands like we all know we should be when washing them.

Managers - please be on top of your staff about this!

I think that most schools get the flyers from Work Place Pro in the mail to your schools - did you all see how cute the 'Wonder Lunch Team' shirts were? While the department won't be ordering shirts for School Lunch Hero Day this year - I thought we (individual staff who are interested) could take advantage of Work Place Pro's Shared Ordering - this will allow us the $7.95 cost per shirt plus the ability to personalize the sleeves. But each person has to pay for their own shirt - it is 100% optional.

If you would like to order one of the 'Wonder Lunch Lady' or 'Wonder Lunch Team' shirts - please order through this link and the shirt should cost us $7.95 each!

Shirts must be ordered by March 26th!

Last Wednesday we announced the winners of the Secondary Breakfast contest that ran the past 20 weeks. Congratulations to all the kitchens/schools that made this happen!!!

• 1st Place = Scott Middle School (ADP% of 54.69%)
• 2nd Place = Eggers Middle School (ADP% of 47.45%)
• Most Improved = Clark Middle/High School (increase of 12.96% for ADP%)

I have to note that each and every secondary school had an increase in ADP% - check out the final results below!
