There is a LOT to catch up on this week! Be sure to check out what’s been happening at the NILE and take a look at the many other great things going on around Sheridan 7–12. Our students and staff have been busy, and there is always something worth celebrating!

Volleyball Districts are here! Best of luck to our Lady Panthers as they head into districts this week. We are proud of your hard work and dedication!

Football Playoffs! Our Panthers are headed to Scobey this weekend for playoff football! Let’s pack the stands and show our boys some Panther Pride. If you can make the trip, get out there and cheer them on, even if it means digging out your passport!

Halloween Fun! One of my favorite traditions is just around the corner! I can’t wait to see all our littles dressed up this Thursday as they parade through the high school and visit the senior center. Love seeing our youngest Panthers bring so many smiles to our students, staff, and community members.

As we head into another busy week, let’s continue to show up, support one another, and celebrate all the wonderful things happening in our Panther community. Good luck to all our athletes this week!

*** DON'T FORGET TO ORDER YOUR YEARBOOK!! YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE! ***

Once a Panther, always a Panther! Go Panthers!

Sheridan Athletic Booster Club

The Sheridan Athletic Booster Club is looking for parents, families, alumni, and community members who want to help support our Sheridan Panther student-athletes and school sports programs!

You don’t have to have a student currently playing a sport to be involved. Whether you can volunteer at an event, help with concessions, assist with fundraising, or simply lend a hand when needed, every bit of help makes a difference.

The Booster Club works throughout the year to support Sheridan athletics, recognize our student-athletes, and help create a positive and exciting experience for our students and community.

We need volunteers, new ideas, and Panther supporters!

If you’re looking for a way to get involved in our school and community, we would love to have you join us.

It takes all of us to support our Panthers!

If you would like more information on how to donate or get involved, please contact Alecia McDougal at 406-596-9819 or Ridgley Elser 406-596-4495.

Hannah and Nicole Braaten competed their year long Nile Merit Heifer project this last weekend showing their heifers at the NILE (Northern International Livestock Exposition) in Billings this past weekend.

They were selected a year ago and paired with a donor ranch to receive a heifer calf. In the past year, they have done online classes, recordkeeping, halter braking, breeding and showing. Finally, they take their bred heifer to the Nile and show it, do an interview and turn in a record book to finish the project in order to keep the heifer for themselves.

Sheridan Panther Achievement Foundation

We're excited to officially introduce the Sheridan Panther Achievement Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting Sheridan students, teachers, and academic opportunities.

Our goal is to help create meaningful experiences, recognize student achievement, support our educators, and strengthen our school community through fundraising and community involvement.

If you would like more information on how to donate or get involved please contact Alecia McDougal at 406-596-9819 or Mimi Allhands at 406-596-0455.

Discipline Policy

At Sheridan, we believe in providing students with multiple opportunities to correct their behavior and learn from their actions. If a student receives a write-up, they will have two additional opportunities to improve their behavior during the same week. However, if a student receives three write-ups within one week, the following consequences will apply:

  • First Offense: The student will serve detention.
  • Second Offense: The student will serve In-School (ISS).
  • Third Offense: The student will be assigned Friday School.

This system is designed to encourage personal responsibility and positive behavior while giving the students the chance to make better choices. Our goal is to support students in learning and growing from their mistakes, so they can be successful in both their academic and personal lives. The Administration does have the discretion to proceed to further disciplinary actions if the offense(s) warrant these actions.

Cell Phone Policy *NEW*

Students may not use cellular phones and other electronic signaling devices (smart watches, Bluetooth headphones, etc.) during the school day. 7th-12th grade students will turn their phone or device into the office each morning. The item will be returned to the student at the end of the school day. At no time may a student operate a device in a locker room, bathroom, or any location where operation of the device may violate the privacy rights of another person. Unauthorized use of such devices disrupts the instructional program and distracts from the learning environment.

Unauthorized use is grounds for confiscation of the device by school officials, including administration, classroom teachers, and paraprofessionals. Confiscated devices will be returned to the student at the end of the school day for the first offense. The second offense: a parent or guardian will have to come to the school to get the device. For the third offense, the student will be assigned a one-day in-school suspension (ISS). Repeated unauthorized use of such devices will result in disciplinary action as deemed necessary by the Administration.
