The Dragon Digest
From the Principal
One of the things I’m most proud of about our school is how connected we are to one another. It’s something you can feel in classrooms, hallways, and shared spaces—and it’s something you notice most when we’re unexpectedly apart.
With tomorrow’s school closure due to the winter storm, I’m reminded that while an extra day away can be disruptive, it can also be a gift. A little extra time in pajamas, a mug of hot cocoa, and a slower pace can be good for the soul. Still, it doesn’t take long before we miss the daily rhythm of learning together and the simple joy of being part of this community.
As winter stretches on, I continue to appreciate the care, flexibility, and kindness that define our school. Those qualities show up in big ways and small ones, and they make this a place where students feel known and supported.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We’ll be ready and happy to welcome everyone back soon—snow boots and all.
All UDSD schools closed Monday, 1/26 due to weather. Enjoy the snow!
