Welcome to the end of August. At the end of the week, we will be entering the first progress reporting period. Please work with your student and the teachers to ensure your child is doing his or her best in class. You can check progress in PowerSchool.

As a reminder, the new South Carolina Grading Law went into effect this school year. For more information on how this law impacts grading, please see HERE. Information about District Grading Practices can be found in our student handbook can be found on our website HERE, and a hard copy was sent home with our students. Grading practices start on page 23.

Monday, August 24: Students will review latest MAP scores and will outline goals/strategies for the year.

Tuesday, August 25: Zearn practice/tracking begins

Wednesday, August 26: Kona at lunch-preorders only

Sullivan will be hosting a book study this fall in which we will be reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. We invite you to join our study which will occur once a month through December starting on September 2 at 6:00 pm in Sullivan's Media Center. The SMS PTO is excited to announce the return of our 3rd Annual Falcon Challenge Dodgeball Tournament—our biggest and most exciting fundraiser of the year!

Mark your calendars now for Friday, November 6, 2026, and get ready for a day filled with friendly competition, school spirit, and nonstop fun! The Falcon Challenge is designed to promote healthy, active lifestyles while building teamwork and community through the classic game of dodgeball.

Whether you're dodging, throwing, or cheering from the sidelines, it's a high-energy day for everyone involved—and all proceeds go directly to benefit the entire school. This year, your support will help us refresh and upgrade the school’s Canteen area, we hope to create a more inviting and functional space for our students.
