SMS AWARDS CEREMONY SMS AWARDS CEREMONY

We are excited to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our students at this year’s Sheridan Middle School Awards Ceremony. This year, we’ve made a few changes to how we recognize student success in order to highlight a broader range of achievements and efforts.

Instead of the traditional honor roll recognition that has been done in past years, we’ve decided to take a more personalized approach. Teachers have nominated students in each course for two special awards: Top Performer and Outstanding Commitment. These awards allow us to celebrate not only academic excellence, but also the persistence, improvement, and dedication students show in the classroom.

Throughout the school year, we’ve already recognized students who made all A’s and A/B Honor Roll each nine weeks. Because of this, we will not be repeating those recognitions during this ceremony.

However, we are proud to highlight students who achieved Outstanding Performance on the ATLAS Exam, as well as those who had Perfect Attendance during the 3rd Nine Weeks.

We are incredibly proud of all our students who have worked hard to maintain strong grades, show growth, and make positive contributions to our school community. Today’s ceremony is a celebration of that effort and commitment.

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to share two amazing summer camp opportunities! Check out the attached flyers for full details and registration links.

GenCyber
Join us for a free, hands-on cybersecurity camp across four Arkansas locations, plus an online option! Supported by the NSA, NSF, and other federal partners, this camp offers engaging activities, T-shirts, snacks, and an end-of-camp competition. It’s a fantastic opportunity for rising 7th–12th graders to learn about cybersecurity.

Robotics Camp
If you love robots and coding, this camp is for you! Choose between two exciting sessions: VEX IQ for grades 5–8 or VEX V5 for grades 7–12. At $150 per participant, you'll experience hands-on robot building, programming challenges, and a fun end-of-week competition—all with T-shirts and snacks provided.

We can’t wait to see you this summer for a season of learning, creativity, and fun!

Best regards,

Sandra
