A Message from the Principal

At this month's spirit assembly, our counselor, Ms. Williams, announced that 220 students had perfect attendance, and as a school, we have a 96.15% attendance rate for the month of November. That is amazing! We hope to keep this momentum of attending school, especially as we enter the last couple of days before the holiday. School Cents has some holiday bonuses that started November 16th that will run through January 15th. See the updated information below for more details about ways you can help support Emerson while also doing your seasonal shopping. Please remember to also check out the PTA News for all of the many great ways to have fun and support Emerson.

Wishing you all a wonderful fall break.

With respect and admiration,

Dr. Dominguez, Principal

Please Read-Safety Concerns: Pick up/Drop off

Safety concern: Student should never be crossing the street outside of the crosswalk, through other cars, in the middle of the street. Please don't ask your students to run across, through cars, as this is extremely unsafe. Near the gate on Willow, more parents are driving the wrong way on the one way street off of Willow, please adhere to all parking and directional signs at all times. Cars that are being left unattended in the middle of the street can cause traffic to back up and possible accidents. Please do not park in the bus loading zone or in red zone, or turn your hazards on and leave your car double parked and unattended with/without other children inside. Safety is our utmost concern, and we thank you in advance for making sure we keep everyone safe and ticket free. Our school neighbors have kindly asked that we remind parents to NOT block their driveways when dropping off and picking up, OR, leave any children in their cars unattended while walking to drop off other siblings to the school campus.

SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER - SEPT 1 THROUGH APRIL 30

This year we are excited to announce that Emerson will be participating in the School Cents fundraiser. We have an opportunity to raise money by shopping at any of the following shopping Centers through April 30th - Lakewood Mall, Los Cerritos Mall, and Stonewood Center. The only thing we need from families is your receipts uploaded to their website from any participating stores it those centers. They can either be dropped off at the school for us to upload, they can be emailed to Emerson directly (a link will be provided before Friday), or they can be uploaded by the person making the purchase. Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and anyone else who you'd like to invite can participate.

SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER - HAPPENING NOW!!

Click the flyer below to see opportunities for 5x points! Double points for ALL receipts being turned in between Nov. 16 through Jan. 15, and 5x points for the retailers detailed below at each of the named stores on the flyer. Getting pictures taken with Santa? Buy a photo and earn 5x the points for Emerson. Want to donate toys? You can go to the Los Cerritos Center on Dec. 6 to donate, or to the Lakewood Center on Dec. 13th to donate (see below for details). Additionally, any receipts showing a donation of $10 or more to Project Shepard will earn Emerson an extra 1000 points per person, per center.

Receipts can be brought to the office, or uploaded on your own - whichever is easiest! A mailbox has now been added next to the Main Office door in the hallway to make dropping off receipts even easier.

We've moved down to 15th place in the contest, but you can help us move back to the top 10 this Holiday season! Let us know if there are any questions.

Thank you in advance for all of your support!
