Preparedness for Semester 2

The second half of the academic year begins on Monday! We are looking forward to working alongside you and your student for continued acceleration of learning. Our goal is for all students to be proficient in all standards by the end of the year.

On Monday your student will be given a new schedule. This schedule will include new "FLX B" and "FLX C" classes that are intended to provide intentional and extended support or enrichment for your student's success. Your student may have a new elective if s/he had been enrolled in a semester-long elective during the beginning of the year.

Preparedness is essential. One barrier we will work to overcome this semester is our student's preparedness with materials for class. Each class, our students will need their Chromebook (charged), their notebook with writing utensils, and their planner. Is your student prepared for class?

Report Cards Will Be Sent on Monday, February 7

Your student's report card will be sent electronically on Monday, February 7th. We will be using the email associated to your ParentSquare account to send you the report card of your student's learning. If you would like to request a hard copy, please email emsinfo@estacada.k12.or.us.

Your student's report card includes three important items for your consideration:

  • Proficiency Scores for each Essential Standard for each class of which your student is enrolled. Review the meaning of each proficiency measure below.
  • Measures of each Characteristic of a Successful Learner which describe your student's academic behaviors. Review the meaning of each characteristic from the rubric image below.
  • Comments from each teacher about your student's learning.

If you have any questions about how to interpret how well your student is learning, please contact our school to set up an appointment with our administration or office team.

Canvas and Quarantine Learning

If a student finds themselves unable to attend school for any reason we hope that they will access their teacher’s Canvas pages where daily assignments are posted and where they can access their Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies classes in real time through the Zoom link on their teacher's Canvas page.

Students should try to attend their classes at the regular times. Students should be sure to Zoom in at the beginning of each of these classes. If a student is unsure of the start times for their classes they can check their schedule in PowerSchool.

Mrs. Pederson is an added resource for students to get one-on-one help while they are away from school. Mrs. Pederson can assist students whether they have a quick question or need help writing a paper, completing a math, science or social studies project assignment. :) Please visit her Canvas page and Zoom with her during her Online School Hours.

We look forward to seeing you back at school! Go Tigers!!!

Game Club

Attached is the flyer for the social skills group I am going to be leading starting Feb 11th. I am going to start with hopefully something small and see where it goes from there. Going to start with an open group for middle and high school students after school on Friday.

All are welcome!

Positive Covid-19 Test During the Weekend? Let us know!

Call the weekend COIVD-19 case hotline on the weekend. It is self-automated; select the right school (per the prompt) and leave a message. The voicemail you leave will be directed to our Vice-Principal, Mr. Kelley so we can begin to identify potential close contacts.

The number you need to call to notify us about your student's positive case is: 971-220-6594. Thank you for partnering with use to keep our students in the classroom with as little interruption as possible.
