AVA Family Update
September 28, 2025
Good morning AVA students and families,
The schedule, guidance updates, community updates, and important dates are all below as per usual. I again encourage students and families to read our update weekly to stay informed of important info and opportunities.
Just one important note from me, and it's a second notice from last week. If you emailed me already per the instructions below, you will receive access shortly. If you haven't emailed me already, I ask that you consider the below opportunity for families.
For all families wishing to get a parent portal account so they can see the work pace of their students, please email me at the address below from the email you wish associated with the account. You can see how much time per subject and assignments completed with the portal, and is a good way for working families to keep tabs on their virtual students.
Thank you for your time.

Guidance Updates
School-to-Career and Student Jobs
AHS has a new School-to-Career staff: Ms. Samantha Shaheen. She has replaced Ms. Louryn Hoff from last year, and she is now the go-to person for any listings on the online Student Job Board. Her contact email is: sshaheen@attleboroschools.com. She can assist with not only finding and connecting to local job opportunities but also with resume help and interview preparation.
Aim High Flight Academy, Scholarship and Experience
The Air Force sponsors this all-paid, 3-week flight training experience for U.S. high school students aged 16-18. Applications will open this month (September). Click HERE for the digital flyer and HERE for their official website.
Senior Planning Night - Resources
In case you missed Senior Planning Night this past Thursday night, HERE is a digital copy of the AHS Guidance Dept.'s slideshow presentation with useful information on the college application process and online links to resources.
AHS College Fair - Last call!
Final reminder: the AHS College Fair will take place this coming Monday, September 29th from 8:30am-9:45am on campus. AVA juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to join and talk to reps from over 120 institutions, including the last-minute addition of MIT! Military branches and local employers will also be joining us. Please check HERE for the full list of visiting institutions.
As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a fabulous weekend!
