Storytelling

There is no better reward than seen the children engagement with Storytelling. Thank you parents for supporting this FACE initiative that will resume in September.

"Extrañaremos mucho las historias!!! Mis hijos disfrutaban cada una de ellas desde Fort Worth, mi pequeño se volvió adicto a Los tres Cochinitos desde que lo escucho con ustedes. Hasta pronto!!! #storytime" Mariana Zazil (parent).

Student Art Work at Bank of America

All partnerships have the capability to support student’s learning, whether it is inside or outside the classroom. Kaleigh Newman, Director of Visual Arts and Mary Cooper, a teacher at Houston Academy partnered with Bank of America in Greenspoint to display students’ art exhibits.

It is an inconceivable experience when families can walk into the bank and see their child’s artwork on display. If we want our students to believe they are artist, it is important for us to help them to see themselves in that manner.

Nancy Gauthier, Family and Community Engagement Specialist expressed, “Aldine ISD is grateful for this opportunity to display our students’ creative expressions on a Community Wall in a neighborhood bank. The colors, forms, and expressions used represents our scholars authentic artistic talents.”

Bank of America manager, Rafael Miranda declared, “As part of the community, we understand its economy, culture, strengths, and challenges so it’s an honor to partner with Aldine ISD.”

This relationship with Bank of America is evidence of authentic family and community engagement.

Be Inspired

Beautiful and inspiring stories were shared by Aldine ISD stakeholders during the Be Inspired event that was held on May 17. It was great to hear testimonials from our guest speakers about how to overcome challenges in life. The Be Inspired and Ser Inspirado events were hosted by students Justina Metu and Lauren Dubon.
