What a special week at McKinley! Last Saturday’s Multicultural Night, organized by our wonderful PTA, was a celebration of our community. Our students shone on stage with incredible cultural performances, and it was a joy to learn about different traditions and enjoy delicious food from around the world. The Variety Show brought even more smiles and excitement, with students showcasing their creativity, talent, and confidence.

¡Qué semana tan especial en McKinley! El sábado pasado, la Noche Multicultural organizada por nuestra increíble PTA fue una celebración de nuestra comunidad. Nuestro alumnado brilló en el escenario con presentaciones culturales maravillosas, y fue un gusto aprender más sobre distintas tradiciones—¡y disfrutar de comidas deliciosas de todo el mundo! El Show de Talentos también fue un gran éxito, con estudiantes que compartieron su creatividad, talento y confianza con entusiasmo.

We also celebrated Founder's Day on Tuesday, honoring the many individuals, staff, parents, and volunteers who make McKinley such an extraordinary place for our students to learn and grow. It was a meaningful reminder of the strength of our school community.

El martes celebramos el Día de los Fundadores, donde reconocimos a las personas, personal, familias y voluntariado que hacen de McKinley un lugar tan especial para que nuestros estudiantes aprendan y crezcan. Fue un momento muy significativo que reflejó la fuerza de nuestra comunidad escolar.

CAASPP testing is almost complete, with just a few make-ups left. Thank you to our students for their focus and perseverance, and to our teachers for supporting them every step of the way. Please remember that results will be sent over the summer to all families through PowerSchool. Make sure you have created your parent account!

BCE is an essential partner to McKinley and all Burlingame schools. Thanks to BCE, our students benefit from programs like music, PE, and more opportunities that wouldn’t exist without their support.

Right now, BCE is working to close a $250,000 gap by the end of June to meet their goal of granting $2.8 million to BSD for next school year. This funding supports 19 teaching positions across the district, including the ones that bring music and PE to McKinley.

BCE es un socio esencial para McKinley y para todas las escuelas de Burlingame. Gracias a su apoyo, nuestros estudiantes disfrutan de programas como música, educación física y mucho más—oportunidades que no existirían sin esta financiación. Field Day is Wednesday, June 11 and the excitement is already building! The grade level colors are listed below. Please have your child wear a shirt in their designated color if possible. And don't forget to have your child gear up with sunscreen, athletic shoes, a hat, and a water bottle!

Our students enjoyed last Wednesday’s assembly with Magician Wayne Houchin. Special thanks to Custodian Raffy Velbis for his speedy post-lunch support to prepare the MPR for our assemblies. Thank you to our PTA VPs of Programming Jenny Abbott and Anita Kacholia for planning engaging assemblies throughout the year to enrich our student experience.
