Seymour Public Schools: Celebrating the 25-26 School Year
2025 - 2026
A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Seymour Families,
As we conclude the 2025–2026 school year, I am filled with gratitude and pride for all that our students, staff, and community have accomplished together. Throughout the year, our schools demonstrated academic excellence, exceptional leadership, artistic achievement, athletic success, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
One quote from our Class of 2026 President, Jeremy Tomasheski, perfectly captures the spirit of our community: “A town that feels more like a family than just a name on a map.” Those words reflect what makes Seymour so special. The partnerships among our families, educators, staff, and community members create an environment where students are supported, encouraged, and inspired to succeed.
This newsletter highlights just a few of the many accomplishments, celebrations, and memorable moments that made this school year extraordinary. While it is impossible to capture everything, these stories showcase the dedication, talent, and resilience that define Seymour Public Schools.
Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support throughout the year. We are honored to work alongside you in helping our students learn, grow, and achieve their goals.
Wishing you and your family a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer.
Sincerely,
Dr. Susan Compton

Is Your Child Struggling with School or Homework? Here’s How We Can Help!
If your child is having difficulty coming to school or keeping up with homework, we’re here to support you! Each week, we’ll provide clear and specific resources to assist you at home.
Weekly Resources:
Homework Help: Consider setting up a consistent homework time and a quiet space for your child to focus. Utilize online platforms like Khan Academy or IXL for additional practice.
Study Tips: Encourage your child to break tasks into smaller, manageable steps. Creating a checklist can help them feel accomplished as they complete each item.
Emotional Support: If your child is feeling anxious about school, try discussing their feelings openly. Sometimes, just talking about what’s bothering them can provide relief.
