Happy National School Counseling Week!
This week, we proudly celebrate Ms. Bennett and Ms. Moffat for the incredible support, guidance, and care they provide our students every day. Their dedication to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally makes a lasting difference in our school community. Thank you for being trusted listeners, tireless advocates, and champions for every student—you truly make our school a better place. 💙
Our playground shines a little brighter in the snow!
The 100th day of school was packed with big smiles and 100 reasons to celebrate!
Penguin Huddle
Grade 1 kicked off their "Animals in Winter" unit this week with a fun and engaging exploration of how animals stay warm during the cold months. They’ve been learning about the different ways humans stay cozy, like bundling up in layers, snuggling in blankets, and heading inside to escape the chill. The class has also been comparing these methods to the winter adaptations of animals. One of the highlights was reading about and watching videos of penguin huddles in Antarctica, where penguins gather closely together to keep warm. Inspired by what they learned, the class decided to give it a try themselves and huddled up to experience firsthand how animals like penguins stay warm in the winter!
Grade 2 Read for 2026
Grade 2 students enjoyed a cozy and fun “Read for 2026” Reading and Pizza Party today! Dressed in pajamas, they read for 2026 seconds and celebrated their accomplishment with a pizza party lunch!
Grade 3 SkyDome Planetarium Presentation
Today, our grade 3 students explored the universe through a portable planetarium—traveling to the planets, spotting constellations, and discovering myths among the stars. This exciting experience tied perfectly into our Wit & Wisdom space module. Thank you to our PTO for making it possible! 🌟🚀
RMK-Community Service Lesson-Ten Beautiful Things
This week, we are starting our community service lesson, Ten Beautiful Things. Students in grades 2–3 and 4–5 will create colorful, decorated note cards filled with positive messages and affirmations. RMK will collect the cards and share them with our contact at School On Wheels of MA. One note card will be included in each backpack they provide to children in need—spreading messages of hope, kindness, and inspiration.
PRIDE program at RLM
At RLM, our PRIDE program is designed to help students grow not only as learners, but also as caring, responsible community members. Each month, teachers and students focus on one of our PRIDE traits:
-
September – Passion
-
October – Respect
-
November – Ingenuity
-
December – Determination
-
January – Empathy
-
February – Positivity
-
March – Responsibility
-
April – Inclusivity
-
May – Dreamer
Throughout the month, students learn about the featured trait in their classrooms and in schoolwide activities. On Mondays and Fridays, student volunteers share examples and their own interpretations of the trait during morning announcements. At the end of each month, we celebrate students who have done an exceptional job demonstrating the trait in their daily actions. These students will also receive a token to "purchase" a book from our school book vending machine.
Our PRIDE program helps us build a school culture where character, leadership, and positive choices are valued and celebrated.

Student Council wants YOU to help with BOX TOPS!
Families, you are AMAZING! We have more parents and grandparents using the Box Tops app and, as a result, we have already raised over $55 for our school. Please spread the word to other families in town and to your relatives! ANYONE can download the app to support our school. Why not take one minute after each shopping trip to scan the receipt and raise more money for RLM? Staples, CVS, Market Basket, Truchhi's, Roche Brothers, Walmart, Target, and more all carry Box Tops products that count towards our fundraising efforts! You are not spending any extra money. You just upload the digital receipts or scan paper receipts for items you are ALREADY purchasing! Every little bit helps our school! Click here to download the app today or send your receipts to school. We are happy to scan them for you!
