SLEDMERE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL
WEEK ENDING 19TH MARCH 2021
RED NOSE DAY
We decided that two fun ways to make ourselves happy were by wearing clothes that make us feel happy and by allowing the children to share funny jokes and stories with their classes. Some children have played games and others have taken part in quizzes.
We also thought that it would brighten up everybody's day by sharing with you what our children say about things that make them happy. Here is what they said...

GROWING OUR SCHOOL
Do you know somebody who would like to send their child to a small, family friendly, nurturing school with incredible pupils? Please let any interested parties know that we have places left for September and would be delighted to talk to these families and let them find out what we are about. We have included a reminder of our Vision, Value and Aims for everyone. Please email the Office or let Mr Richardson know. Thank you.
SCHOOL VISION
OUR CHRISTIAN VALUES
These are our central Christian values. In the Bible we learn about the kind of people God wants us to be. At school, we try to put these values into practice in all that we do and to encourage the children to do the same.
Friendship
‘A friend loves at all times.’ (Proverbs 17:17)
- We encourage children to make deep and satisfying friendships.
- We help children who are having problems with their friendships.
- We teach children that Jesus is our friend who likes us and enjoys being with us.
Honesty
'Honest people will lead a full and happy life.' (Proverbs 28:20)
- We teach children that honesty is central to everything.
- We teach them that God encourages us to be honest.
- We celebrate when children show honesty.
Responsibility
'A Samaritan took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds. Then he put the man on his donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.’ (Luke 10:33-35)
- We encourage children to take responsibility for one another
- We also provide structured opportunities for children to take responsibility through helping younger children, or through working in the library or school garden, for example.
- We encourage children to take responsibility for others in our local community.
Respect
'Treat others as you want to be treated.' (Luke 6:31)
- We encourage children to respect each other.
- We teach children that when respect is given it is earned back.
- We model respect in our relationships with everyone.
Perseverance
'God helped you in the beginning and he will help you until it is finished.' (Philippians1:6)
- We teach children that it is ok to find things difficult.
- We show children how to persevere when tasks appear impossible.
- We celebrate children who show perseverance.
Forgiveness
'God is able to forgive you even when you don't forgive yourself.' (John 1:9)
- We teach children that forgiveness is the right thing to do when you have been upset with somebody or something.
- We encourage children to forgive each other following a problem.
- We demonstrate forgiveness in our daily lives.
