GRE SCIENTISTS GRE SCIENTISTS

We are excited to share updates from our science curriculum as our budding scientists continue to explore the fascinating realms of earth, physical, and life sciences! As you may know, our students utilize Stemscopes and the 5E Model—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate—as they dive into new learning experiences.

Currently, our fifth graders are embarking on an exciting unit focused on space! They are investigating the Earth’s position in relation to the sun, moon, and stars and how these celestial relationships impact our planet. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, students are gaining a deeper understanding of concepts such as gravity, the solar system, and the changing seasons.

We encourage you to ask your child about what they are learning in class! Exploring questions about their experiments or observations can spark meaningful discussions at home.

HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES COMING SOON HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES COMING SOON

Students are already wondering how we will celebrate Halloween as a school community! On Thursday, October 31, students are welcome to start their day in their costumes. They will enjoy a class party with the teacher and parent volunteers. Please see classroom communication for party donations and an opportunity to volunteer as a party coordinator.

All families are welcome to attend our outdoor parade (weather permitting). Please see grade level parade times below. Parents are welcome to watch anywhere along the route.

8:45-9:00 Grades K & 1

9:15-9:30 Grades 2 & 4

9:45-10:00 Grades 3 & 5

We encourage students to be creative with their costumes, but safety remains our number one priority. Please make sure that students have a costume that fits over their clothing. Students will be asked to change out of their costumes independently at 10:15 AM when our regular school day will resume. Please note that face paint, masks and weapons are not permitted.

We are looking forward to the festivities!

We want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our PTO and parent volunteers. Their unwavering support and dedication makes our Gold Rush community truly special.

Our recent Western Night was a tremendous success, and we couldn’t have done it without the PTO and our volunteers! From setting up the event to helping with activities, their efforts ensured that everyone had a fantastic time celebrating together. Thank you for bringing our community closer through such an enjoyable fall festivity.

We also want to express our sincere appreciation to the PTO and our families for the delicious conference meals and treats. Your generosity and thoughtfulness supported teachers and staff during a busy time, and it did not go unnoticed.
