MESSAGE TO AAM COMMUNITY

Dear Altadena Arts Magnet Community,
We wanted to provide an update. At its March 26 meeting, the Board of Education approved indoor testing at Altadena Arts Magnet (AAM), reflecting PUSD's ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our students and employees. The District partnered with Verdantas and its teaming partner, Vista Environmental Inc., an indoor building environmental testing firm, which conducted the testing work at AAM. We have included the two maps for the first and second floors at AAM showing all locations where indoor wipe and co-located air sampling was conducted.
Testing was completed last week. Lab analyses can take up to seven business days once the lab receives the samples, and we expect initial results for metals, including lead, as early as this week.
Once all analyses are complete, a full, detailed report will be prepared and shared with the school community. Findings will inform any next steps, including considerations related to soft goods and porous materials.
We are grateful for your continued engagement and for the trust you place in us to protect our students. We will keep you informed as results become available.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Blanco, Ed.D.
