News from Dudley Middle School

We still believe in educating the whole child and that our students are way more than just their test scores. Therefore, to us, MCAS is not EVERYTHING. However, it does give us important information about student progress on state learning standards. It does help us to know how we are doing as a school in the all-important areas of curriculum and instruction.

We never over-emphasize MCAS or put too much pressure on our students.

We just ask two things: be on time and do your very best. And those are two skills that will serve our students well in just about anything they ever try to do in their lives.

Please try your best to have your student(s) in school, on time on test days. Schedule is below.

March 6 - Early Dismissal for Students / Staff Professional Development

March 6 - Spring Sports Registration Closes

March 12 - Shepherd Hill Assembly for 8th Graders (8:45)

March 16 and 17 - 8th graders register for classes with Shepherd Hill counselors

March 23-26 - Grade 8 Washington DC Trip

March 26 - Early Dismissal for Students / Parent-Teacher Conferences (More info. forthcoming)

March 27 - No School for Students - Staff Professional Development

March 31 - April 1 - ELA MCAS (Grades 7 and 8)

April 3 - Early Dismissal - Good Friday

April 7 and 8 - ELA MCAS (Grades 5 and 6)

April 20-24 - April Vacation

Spring Sports / Meet the Coaches Night is Thursday March 5 at 6:00 PM at Shepherd Hill. All players trying out for a spring sport are expected to attend.
