Carnegie Chronicle
January 2026
Note from the Director
Greetings neighbors,
2025 was another successful year at the library, thanks to our wonderful community members! I've included some highlights below.
We are moving forward with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program repairs to the Friends Book Sale Room. The book sale will continue during construction, but it has been moved to Meeting Room 2 (see photos below). The room will be open during library hours, unless a meeting is scheduled. Once again, we appreciate your patience, and we will let you know when we are accepting book donations again.
New Beginner Spanish Classes begin next Tuesday, January 27th at 4PM! The students in last year's Beginner Class are moving to the more advanced Conversational Class, so if you have been thinking of learning Spanish, now is the perfect time!
On Thursday, January 29th, we'll celebrate National Puzzle Day with a drop-in program in Meeting Room 2. Stop by anytime between noon and 5PM to warm up with a cup of soup, work on a puzzle, and swap an old puzzle for a new one!
Fridays in February at 6PM, the Secret Season Cinema will highlight four award-winning foreign films on the big screen in the Library Boulevard Bookend venue.
Warmest regards,
Christina Danos
Thank You!
We are very grateful for a donation of several books and "The American Revolution" DVD series by Ken Burns for the library's collection from the Abendschone Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
