NES Parent Newsletter 10/13/25
October 13, 2025

Dear NES Families,
Our students are continuing to build independence, collaborating in centers, and showing excitement for the upcoming activities planned in the coming months. We encourage families to keep in mind how crucial attendance is during this busy time of year—every day really counts, especially with the number of school days already missed due to holidays/breaks!
We were thrilled to celebrate our teachers who were mini-grant winners this week. NES educators were awarded a total of $5,750 to use for special projects, activities, or supplies that will directly benefit their students. Look for photos and more details in next week’s newsletter!
A big thank you to all parents who have already contributed candy and snacks for our Spooktacular—your support makes this event possible and helps create an unforgettable experience for our students.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a wonderful place for learning and fun!
With gratitude and positivity,
Mrs. Jessica Lowe, Principal
Mrs. Heather Briney, Assistant Principal

Energy Bus
This month's focus: I'm the Driver
We are continuing to teach students that they are in control of their own choices—just like driving their own bus. This means they can choose to act with kindness, respect, and inclusion every day.
When students take responsibility for their actions, they help create a safe and welcoming environment for all classmates, including those with different abilities. By being the driver of their bus, students learn that they have the power to make positive choices, celebrate differences, and support one another. Together, these choices help build a truly inclusive school community where every student can thrive.
Family Action Step:
At home, talk with your child about ways they can include classmates with disabilities in school and at play. Encourage them to notice strengths in others, offer help when needed, and celebrate everyone’s unique abilities. Small choices each day can make a big difference in creating an inclusive environment.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us spread kindness and positive energy!
