Our classrooms are buzzing with energy as students dive into their studies, eager to explore new ideas and achieve their goals. The commitment to excellence is evident in every lesson taught, every question asked, and every challenge embraced.

We are already seeing signs of significant academic growth. Our students not only meet the high expectations set before them, but also exceed them in many areas. This is a testament to the incredible work being done by our teachers, who continue to inspire and guide our students toward success.

As we move forward, we focus on fostering a continuous improvement culture. We will strive to provide the best possible educational experience for all our students, ensuring each child has the support and resources they need to reach their full potential.

This year, under the leadership of Ms. Lauderdale, our 4th—and 5th-grade students have had tremendous success with the start of their very own News Show. During the morning broadcast, students take the lead in presenting every segment, anchoring, interviewing, setting commercials, and working with the cameras. We are very proud of this accomplishment and would love for you to stop in one morning to view it live.

To the Parents of 5th Graders:

Spots are quickly filling up for our annual overnight trip to Charleston in April. The deadline to sign up and make the first payment of $50 is Friday, September 20th. This deadline is set by Orange Sky Travel, not DMES, so we do not have any flexibility to adjust this deadline.

We are already busy working on fundraisers to help with your payments, and we will be able to apply funds to all accounts that are current with payments through the December payment. The pay schedule is located on your trip account via the Orange Sky website.

All payments must be made online through your Orange Sky Travel account. If you have any questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.

Our upcoming Parent Lunch and Learn Workshop: Technology will be held at Drayton Mills Elementary on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 11 am to 12 pm. This workshop will include instructions on how to use PowerSchool and iReady parent portals to access student progress, grades, and attendance. Lunch will be provided.
