HTPS EXCELLENCE SPOTLIGHT

MESSAGE FROM MR. TOOMEY - SUPERINTENDENT
I hope you’ve been enjoying a safe, relaxing, and wonderful summer. It’s hard to believe, but we are just about a week away from welcoming back our staff and a little over a week away from greeting our students for the start of the 2025–2026 school year. The excitement is building, and our schools are almost ready to come alive again with learning and activity.
Getting ready for a new school year is truly a district-wide effort, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to the many people who make it possible. Our custodians and maintenance crews have worked tirelessly all summer to clean and prepare our buildings so they are safe, welcoming, and ready for students. Our secretaries, administrators, and central office staff have been busy behind the scenes finalizing countless details to ensure a smooth start. And, of course, our teachers have been back in their classrooms, setting up warm and engaging environments where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
I also want to acknowledge the launch of our new in-district lunch program, which is nearly ready to kick off, and the extensive planning and curriculum work that has been happening all summer long to set our students up for success. The effort, dedication, and pride shown by so many across our schools is what makes Hanover Township Public Schools truly special.
As we embrace our theme of “Aspire to Inspire Excellence," each of us—students, staff, families, and community members—has a role to play in shaping a school community where excellence is both achieved and inspired.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I look forward to an exciting and memorable year ahead as we officially kick off the 2025–2026 school year together next week!
LUNCH PROGRAM UPDATE
Thank you to everyone who was able to join our Parent Presentation with Maschio's Food Services last week. If you couldn't be there, please click HERE to view the video recording.

SHINING BRIGHT IN ESY
This summer, Hanover Township Public Schools proudly wrapped up another successful Extended School Year (ESY) program. ESY provides students with additional learning opportunities beyond the regular school year, helping them continue to grow, maintain important skills, and prepare for a smooth transition into September.
Thanks to the leadership of Mrs. Sherry Koeppen and the dedication of our teachers, staff, and support teams, ESY was both meaningful and engaging for students. We are grateful for everyone who played a role in creating a supportive, enriching environment that reflects our district’s commitment to helping every student thrive.
SUMMER FUN AT CAMP HTSACC
Camp HTSACC finished another amazing summer! The program ran from June 25 - August 15 with over 300 kids enrolled. Campers enjoyed themed weeks, filled with a variety of arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, scavenger hunts, escape rooms, and dance parties, planned by the amazing counselors. Vendors visited our programs weekly, bringing in live entertainment for the kids to engage in. Assemblies varied from bubble and laser shows to acrobatic and live music performances, and even science and game shows!
Additionally, our campers enjoyed large camp activities on Wednesdays, including a video game truck, Camp Color Games, bounce houses, the Camp HTSACC Talent Show, silent disco parties, and reptile visits. In addition to all of the fun held at camp, we also swam on Mondays and Fridays at the Bee Meadow Pool and traveled on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week for fun-filled field trips.
This year, our trips included visits to American Dream Mall, Liberty Science Center, Funplex, Hangdog Outdoor Adventure, Urban Air Trampoline Park, Bowling & Movies, Humdingers, and Branchburg Sports Complex. It's hard to believe how quickly eight weeks can go, but when you're having as much fun as we did this summer, it's not surprising! Summer may have just ended, but we are already gearing up for Summer 2026—we can't wait to see you there!

BACK TO SCHOOL REMINDERS
STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS - FALL 2025
This September, our district will begin an important strategic planning process to help shape our shared vision and priorities for the next five years. Having a clear, community-driven plan ensures that our goals, resources, and initiatives align with the evolving needs of our students and school community—both now and in the years to come.
This work will be collaborative and inclusive, with input from across our school community guiding the path forward. To support this effort, a core planning team will be formed, representing a broad cross-section of our community, including parents, teachers, administrators, and Board of Education members.
There will be an opportunity for some members of our community to be part of this core team; however, participation will be limited to ensure the group remains balanced and representative. We look forward to sharing more details about the process and ways for everyone to stay informed and involved as we work together to chart an exciting course for the future of Hanover Township Public Schools!
