Congratulations to the class of 2026!! We are proud of all of you and wish you the best as you move forward with whatever is next for you. Both our DK Academy and DK High School held graduation ceremonies last night in the Panther Gym. Lots of high achievers, overcomers, leaders, and strong service-oriented kids walked across the stage to receive their diplomas. Good luck, go and continue to DO A JOB!!!

I loved the positive messages from our student speakers. Violet Kokx, Nicholas Muday, Caysen Andersen, and Maggie Martin did a great job with their speeches, and Maggie and Emileigh Chandler sang a duet that had many in tears. I’m so proud of all that this class has accomplished, but mostly I love that they are young people of character and a group of kind human beings.

This week, we completed the NWEA and all other state testing makeups. Early returns for many of our kids are showing some good scores and lots of growth. We are excited about continuing our curriculum work this summer as we move forward with K-12 alignment and other moves designed to help us close gaps that kids have and find higher levels of success.

This week, our golf team won the SAC Championship at Beeches Golf Course in South Haven. Grady Matteson and Carter Brickley were joined by Jason Marshall in the top 10. Our guys are primed and peaking for Regionals on Tuesday as they try to advance to the State Finals. Track has 4 kids headed to their State Finals on the 30th, which is also baseball and softball Districts.

I don’t know all the details, but our seniors returned early this morning from their Senior Mystery Trip. Tired, no doubt, but full of excitement and anticipation about their summer ahead and the plans they are making for their future. This entire group is this week’s Hogie’s Heroes. They have been a joy to work with as a counselor, coach, and, these past 2+ years, as their Principal. It has been an honor, and I look forward to hearing about future accomplishments. Class of 2026, go change the world!!

Jace Hilton, Aubrey Yarger, Evelynn Courneya, Isabelle VerStrate, Maci Freiberg, Celine Hynes, Madison Muskovin, Andreana Hopkins, Alyce Donley, and Samuel Champion-Paling joined together to contribute their efforts to the community garden at the elementary school. Each participant from the Farm To Table class took the lead at one of three engaging stations set up for the day. The activities included a refreshing yoga session, an exciting scavenger hunt, and the rewarding task of planting a variety of vegetables, all fostering a sense of community and connection with nature.
