Hopefully you had a marvelous Labor Day weekend. We just wrapped up a wonderful second week of school, and the excitement around our learning and community continues to grow! Thank you for your support in helping us start the year so strong.

In conjunction with the PTO, we are thrilled to share that we are over halfway to our fundraising goal! Your generosity is making a direct impact, and we are so grateful. Please continue to spread the word as every donation helps us get closer to our goal.

No matter the outcome, to celebrate what we have raised, all students will participate in our Fun Run this Friday. We can’t wait to cheer them on as they enjoy this special event together! It's going to be so much fun!

On September 10th, 11th, and 12th, representatives from the Boy Scouts will deliver brief informational presentations to all students during grade-level town hall meetings. These presentations, each lasting approximately five minutes, are designed to introduce students to the Boy Scouts organization and will not interfere with regular classroom instruction.

If you prefer that your student not participate, please contact their teacher to request an opt-out.

Kindergarten families, when you get a chance, kindly bring your welcome yard sign back to the front office or drop it through the pick up/drop off line. We appreciate your help—thank you so much!

The nurse has started doing vision screenings at school. You will only receive a note from the nurse if your child did not pass and needs to be referred to an eye doctor. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Henry is so excited to welcome author Aaron Reynolds on Wednesday, September 3rd. Aaron is the author and illustrator of many books, such as Creepy Carrots and Creepy Crayon. He will be promoting his new chapter book series featuring Jasper Rabbit, and his first book is called Jasper Rabbit's Creepy Tales: Troubling Tonsils. We would like to thank The Novel Neighbor, a bookstore in Webster Groves, for providing the opportunity to bring Arron to Henry! If your family would like to purchase an autographed copy of his books, you can order online here. A paper order form will also be coming home in the coming weeks.

Aaron will be presenting to grades K-2 in the library, and grades 4-5 will have the opportunity to live stream the visit from their classrooms. 3rd grade will be at specials during the visit and will have the opportunity to watch a recording of the visit at a later time. If you have any questions, or do not want your child to attend the visit, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Goyal at agoyal@parkwayschools.net.

Classroom parties at Henry would not be possible without our volunteers! There are two ways to help:

1. We are looking for TWO room parents per classroom to help plan and lead both the Fall & Spring parties.
2. We also need additional party volunteers to help on the day of the party. Party volunteers can sign up to help at either the Fall or Spring party or both!
