Your child’s teacher will be visible in Skyward Family Access on June 5, 2026. Your child’s teacher will be your main point of contact. You should hear from them by the end of the day on June 8th, if not sooner. They may be asking for a few supplies as well.
Students will enjoy a full day of fun and learning which includes math, language arts, STEM, and specials. Specials this year include art, music, library, and P.E. Your child will have a 30-minute lunch and a 30-minute recess.
Safety Drills
We have scheduled two safety drills during the summer programming. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please notify administration.
Fire Drill: TBD
Lockdown Drill: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.
Summer Technology - Chromebooks
Chromebooks will be provided for students in 1st-7th grade to use while they are in summer school. They will remain in the building and not go home.
Reporting Absences
All absences should be reported to the teacher. You should also call 847-984-8801 to report the absence. When calling in, please indicate your child’s name, teacher’s name, grade level, and the reason for the absence. If you do not contact us, someone will be called just as we do during the school year. Please be certain that you communicate any changes in transportation to your child’s teacher.
Report your child's absence in Skyward!
How it works: A parent or guardian may enter an Absence Request by logging into Skyward and entering the request for one child, or multiple children from the same household. Once logged into Skyward, select “Attendance” from the left column, and follow the prompts to indicate which child will be absent, the date(s), and reason for the absence.
Summer Health Office Information
We are excited to have your child for Summer School! Our goal is to keep our students and staff Safe, Healthy, & Learning! Parents and guardians are our partners in this goal.
Reminders:
- Food Allergy: If your child chooses to have breakfast and lunch in school, parents/guardians please check the menu for food allergens. (Menus will be available soon!) If it is not safe for your child to have that food in the menu, please send food from home. Food provided by Quest is peanut free.
- Leave an extra set of clothes in the backpack.
- Send a water bottle to school everyday.
- Apply sunscreen to your child before coming to school. Hats and sunglasses are encouraged.
Summer School Menus
Meal service for Wildcat Summer Adventures is provided by Quest Food Services and works the same as during the school year. Menus will be posted on the Quest website. You can access the Quest website through the Woodland Meal Program webpage. Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase. Funds must be in the Family account in Skyward.
Transportation
Riding the Bus:
If you have elected transportation, bus stops are specific to summer school and not necessarily the stop for your student during the school year. Bus information will be forthcoming. If you need to change bus stops because you have moved, or due to childcare, you will need to contact transportation directly at 847-856-3644. You can find the link to fill out a new bus sheet for Summer School Only - REVISED BUS SUMMER SCHOOL Letters will be mailed out. If you do not receive your letter with your bus tag/certification by June 5th, please email transportation at trans@dist50.net or call 847-856-3644.
Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up:
If you are not planning to use the bus and instead will drop off and/or pick up daily, you must drive around the back of the building and drop off and pick your child up on the far east side of the building. Staff will bring your student to the driver’s side door. Please follow the posted signs and staff directives.
Whenever you are picking up your child, you must have proper identification with you. After your first pickup, you’ll be given a summer pickup tag so that you can show the tag at pickup from that point forward. Please remember to have your ID ready for Pickup! No one else will be allowed to pick up your child without proper prior notice and identification. Procedures are the same as during the school year.
Drop off your student no earlier than 8:55 a.m. and pick up begins at 2:30 p.m. If you are dropping off or picking up mid-day, you will need to call our office at 847-984-8800 so that someone can meet you at the main doors. Please be certain that you communicate any changes in transportation to your child’s teacher.
