Letter From the Directors
Dear PCK Families,
As we enter the month of April, we are reminded that spring is a season of growth. We are seeing that same growth take place in our classrooms each day. Our students have been working incredibly hard, building their skills, strengthening their understanding, and showing perseverance in their learning.
This month also marks the beginning of CMAS testing. We are proud of the effort our students have put in all year to prepare, and we are confident in their ability to show what they know. While testing is one way we measure progress, it is their daily dedication, curiosity, and growth that truly stand out.
In our younger classrooms, we are also seeing students lurch forward in reading skills with the support of classroom reading challenges. Students are building strong foundations in decoding and fluency, and it has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as readers. Thank you for the important role you play at home. Taking time to listen to your child read, practicing regularly, and reinforcing these foundational skills make a meaningful difference in their success.
We are especially grateful for your partnership during this time. Thank you for helping ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep, starts the day with a healthy breakfast, and has time in the evenings to relax and recharge.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We are excited to continue to watch our students bloom as a result of the hard work they have put in throughout this school year.
Warmly,
Dr. Leanne Weyman

Spotlight
Last week, our students came together for our monthly character assembly. For April, we are focusing on courage, encouraging students to demonstrate it both inside and outside the classroom. During the assembly, students showcased their courage through poetry, music, and a special performance by our Tuck Everlasting cast.
We also took time to celebrate students recognized by their teachers for outstanding character in March, when the focus was on cooperation. By reinforcing these important character traits throughout the year, we help guide our students to become critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and future leaders.
Congratulations to all students who were recognized for their outstanding character, we’re grateful for your leadership and serving as a role model for fellow classmates.

Dear PCK Family,
I would like to contribute to the continued success of our school by joining the
school board. My wife and I have a current 2nd grader and junior kindergartener. I have contributed to the Finance Committee over the last 3 years and helped with the School Accountability Committee (SAC) this school year. My professional background centers around federal government procurement systems and I work as a data project lead in my day job.
My contribution to the school board would be to have an open ear to the community and understand what is working and what needs to be improved. At a SAC meeting this last fall, one of our fellow parents came up with the idea of having a “Family Report Card”. Essentially, it would be a way to measure the important aspects of what we do from volunteer hours, student attendance, donations, etc. It’s important that we measure ourselves in other ways than just standardized test scores and give us a way to praise families/students for showing up.
In closing, the most important job of the school board is setting the high standards that PCK parents’ demand. We need to continue to innovate with changing technologies and remember that the most important function of the school is daily student growth. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
David (Dave) Sumpter
Dear Members of the PCK Operating Council and Board of Directors,
I am writing to express my interest in serving on the PCK Board of Directors.
By way of introduction, I currently serve as Director of Transformation at Charles Schwab, where I lead product strategy and transformation initiatives for the operations organization. My work is centered on preparing the business for the future—driving innovation, enabling scalable processes, and ensuring we consistently deliver strong outcomes for clients. I directly lead a team of approximately 20 professionals and contribute to a broader organization of nearly 70 individuals focused on long-term strategy and iterative transformation.
Over the past year, I have also explored a personal interest in building a small boutique record label aimed at promoting Indian cultural content. While still in its early stages, this experience has given me an additional perspective on creativity, community engagement, and balancing multiple priorities effectively.
As a leader, one of my core strengths is the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining focus on long-term outcomes. In my current role, I regularly balance strategic planning, execution, and team leadership across several workstreams. This ability to multitask effectively and stay organized would allow me to contribute meaningfully to the Board while honoring its responsibilities and time commitments.
As a parent in the PCK community, I deeply value what the school represents. For over two decades, PCK has established itself as one of the most respected and enduring institutions in Colorado. What stands out most is its ability to maintain excellence and a strong cultural foundation despite changing demographics and broader economic shifts in Parker and Douglas County. The opportunity to contribute to such a storied institution is both meaningful and inspiring to me.
My motivation for joining the Board stems from a desire to help preserve and strengthen this legacy while also preparing the school for the future. We are entering a period of significant transformation driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and related technologies. Based on what I am seeing in my current role, the nature of work and leadership is evolving rapidly. The future will place greater emphasis not just on knowledge, but on curiosity, critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to ask the right questions.
Given this shift, I would be particularly interested in supporting a long-term strategic priority focused on future readiness. This could include thoughtfully exploring how emerging technologies like AI can be introduced in an age-appropriate and responsible manner—both to enhance learning experiences and to help students develop the skills they will need in the years ahead. Equally important is ensuring that teachers and the broader school community are supported through this transition, with a balanced approach that preserves PCK’s core values while gradually building new capabilities.
My approach would be to bring a structured, iterative transformation mindset—helping the school take measured steps over time rather than pursuing abrupt change. The goal would be to ensure that every student graduating from PCK is not only academically strong, but also prepared to navigate and lead in a rapidly evolving world.
I believe my experience in strategy, transformation, and team leadership can contribute meaningfully to the Board’s work. I would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with fellow Board members and the broader PCK community to help guide the school’s continued success.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thanks,
Sandeep Reddy
My name is Dominic Muñoz, and I am writing to formally express my interest in joining the Board of Directors at Parker Core Knowledge (PCK). As a Colorado native, I have spent my life in the Littleton and Parker areas, eventually graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Business Marketing.
My connection to PCK is both professional and deeply personal. My wife, Mackenzie, grew up in Parker and was one of the original students at this school. Today, our daughters Everly (3rd grade) and Ruthie (1st grade) are thriving here, and we look forward to our son, Landon, joining them in Kindergarten next year.
Professional Background
Currently, I serve as the AVP of Thrive Home Builders. In this role, I oversee several critical departments, including:
- Contracts & Closings
- Accounts Payable
- Permitting
My daily work involves high-level operational oversight, budgetary management, and cross-departmental coordination. I believe these skills translate directly to the governance and fiscal responsibilities required of a Board member.
Why I Am Interested
My motivation for joining the Board is simple: I have seen firsthand the impact PCK has on an individual’s future success. I want to ensure that the high standards of excellence that benefited my wife continue to be the foundation for my own children and for every student who walks through these doors in the years to come. I am committed to fostering an environment where the school doesn't just maintain its reputation but builds upon it.
Strategic Priority: Financial Resilience
While I am supportive of all the school’s goals, I am particularly interested in championing Financial Resilience. Given my professional background in managing complex financial pipelines and contracts, I would like to help the school:
- Strengthen Long-Term Sustainability: Ensuring our fiscal health remains robust to withstand changing economic landscapes.
- Operational Efficiency: Utilizing my experience in process management to ensure resources are utilized effectively to benefit staff and students alike.
Beyond my professional life, I am an active member of our local community. Whether I am on the golf course, playing and umpiring softball for the Town of Parker, coaching multiple kids sports teams, or rooting for our Colorado sports teams, I value the teamwork and dedication it takes to succeed. I believe these same values—collaboration, persistence, and local pride—are essential to a high-functioning Board of Directors.
Closing
I am eager to give back to the community that is doing so much for my family. Thank you for your time, your consideration, and for your continued dedication to the success of Parker Core Knowledge.
Sincerely, Dominic Muñoz

From the SAC
At our most recent SAC meeting, we reviewed the upcoming 2025-26 End-of-Year Parent Satisfaction Survey. This important tool is designed to gather valuable feedback from our community on all aspects of PCK.
The survey will be released in the coming weeks, and we strongly encourage every family to participate and answer as many questions as possible. Your responses help guide meaningful improvements across our school community.
Survey results will be reviewed and discussed during our next SAC meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 at 8:15 a.m. As always, if you have any questions about the SAC or would like to bring forward any topics for discussion, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at SAC@ckcs.net.
Volunteer Spotlight
For this week’s Volunteer Spotlight, we’re proud to recognize the many individuals who donated snacks for CMAS testing. Throughout the testing window, students in grades 3-8 require nearly 3,000 snacks, and these contributions help ensure that every student stays nourished, focused, and ready to do their best.
Year after year, our community shows up in a big way to help us meet this need, and we are truly grateful. Thank you to everyone who generously donated snacks this year, your support makes a meaningful difference. Your kindness not only helps our students succeed academically, but also sets a powerful example. When students see generosity in action, it strengthens the values of compassion and giving both in school and at home.
