Growing Together at Lakeland
At Lakeland, our monthly themes help students build habits that support learning, friendships, and a caring school community. Last month, we focused on kindness. This month, we’re building on that foundation with gratitude, responsibility, and ownership of our behavior.
We are encouraging students to notice and appreciate others, follow through on their responsibilities, and understand how their choices affect those around them. Taking ownership means acknowledging mistakes, working to make things right, and making a plan for a better choice next time.
Please help reinforce these traits through conversations at home. You might ask:
What is something you’re grateful for today?
How did you show responsibility?
When a choice didn’t go well, what did you do to make it right?
