Nike WeeklyScout ReportJan. 27, 2023

Happy Friday afternoon Nike families,

It's still very cold outside, so please keep in mind that students should bring a coat to school during the colder weather. If your child needs a coat, hat, or gloves, please reach out.

January is the time when we make goals. We are going to start a whole school reading challenge - "Million Minutes of Reading". The entire school is going to track their reading minutes and the goal is to read a million minutes. The goal is to increase our reading stamina, which is the amount of time we read and to complete the books we read. As a school we will be tracking our minutes. As of January 19th, Nike has read 63,192 minutes!

We have many exciting things going on at Nike! Below you will see a bulleted list of events coming up:

  • Tue., Feb. 7th- 101st day of school- To celebrate, we are asking students and staff to dress up as the 101 Dalmations. Your child is not required to participate.
  • Friday, Feb 10th - PTO Princess Ball and Boy Bash
  • Monday, Feb 20th - No School - President's Day
  • Friday, Feb 24th - End of 2nd Trimester - Early Dismissal at 1:10 pm
  • Monday, Feb 27th - No School- MVR3 PD Day

Attendance Matters

As your child about the Attendance Leaderboard, which is displayed in the foyer of the school. Each day the tv displays attendance from the day before. We had FOUR classes with perfect attendance yesterday! Congratulations to Mrs. Burt's class, Mrs. Harris's class, Mrs. Shoemaker's class, and Ms. Suchland's class.

That's amazing!
