PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
I hope that you all enjoyed the wonderful performances at our band and music concert, as well as the art show last Friday. A huge shout out to Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Michaud, and Mrs. Polizotto for the hours and hours of work they did to prepare students for this performance. The students were so very excited to show all they had learned. They did a wonderful job and we're very proud of them.
First, second, and third-grade students have another exciting Friday this week. They will be traveling to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay for the day. Students will be able to connect to nature in a unique coastal environment. CMBG's experienced educators will provide guided lessons to students. Students will also have time to explore the gardens.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and has the opportunity to pause and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country. Tomorrow, in honor of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 29th, we will be wearing red, white, and blue.
ART NEWS
I hope everyone enjoyed seeing their artwork on display at the concert. It is always so hard to choose work, because PES students are so talented!
I would like to thank fifth graders Ayla, Sunny, Adeline, and Sloan for helping hang the art show during their recess, and Finn and Patty M. for helping take down the remaining artwork.
Friday, June 2nd is Tie-Dye Day! All classes, Pre-K-5, will be creating a one-of-a-kind shirt! Please send a white, cotton shirt labeled with your child's name to school by Friday. I do have some extra shirts for students who are unable to bring one in. Please let me know. Mrs. Polizotto, email: rpolizotto@rsu1.org.
LIBRARY NEWS
Another school year is coming to an end, and the library is gathering all materials that have been signed out by students and staff. Parents can help by assisting their children in locating and returning library books to school. Students will not be able to borrow library books after June 2nd. All books are due back to school by June 9th. Thank you for your help and support.
PTA NEWS
Please join us for our next PTA meeting Friday, June 2nd, at 8:30AM in the PES Teachers Room. We welcome new members. If you can't make it, but have ideas to share, please email them at phippsburgPTA@gmail.com.
