If your students have enjoyed the 4J Virtual Field Trips these past few months highlighting great places in our community then they will love Shannon Miller's around the world virtual field trips (click the image below)! These are so fun! She has two slides full of fantastic places to "visit"! Hopper the Explorer (the penguin) is one of my favorites! Oh, but then there's the top of the Eiffel Tower, the rain forest, the Great Wall of China...The travel bug in me is all excited!

A couple of hints:

  1. Be sure to click on the little red link in the upper, right corner of each "ticket".
  2. To navigate to page 2, click the arrow to the right of where it says 1 of 2 in the blue bar at the bottom of the page.

You can download the QR code to the right here to share with your students.

Have fun!

Behind the Book Author Takeover STUDENT EDITION with Jennifer L. Holm

Check out this exciting opportunity offered from Follett:

On February 3, 2021 at 11:00am CT we are excited to bring you New York Times best-selling and Newbery Honor-winning author Jennifer L. Holm who will discuss her out-of-this-world new novel about a kid raised on Mars that learns that he can't be held back by the fears of the grown-ups around him.

We hope this event will:

  • Introduce students to an author they might not already be familiar with allowing for an author/reader relationship to develop.
  • Give students a better understanding of the author’s viewpoint on the story to deepen their investment in the book or series.
  • Bring writing to life and, in turn, ignite the inspiration of reading.

We are excited to offer you this event to either watch live with your students in the classroom (or stream while eLearning)! Can’t attend live? All registrants will also receive the recording to share with their students.

Share this link with your students to register to attend live or get a recording. Teachers can also register to attend live or get the recording to watch with your class.
