Bogota Middle School Update

Welcome Back to a New School Year!
We hope you are enjoying the final days of summer. As the school year approaches, we want to remind students to ensure their summer assignments are completed or in progress. Starting the year prepared is a great way to get off on the right foot!
From the very first day, we expect students to follow the dress code, arrive on time, and come fully prepared with a charged Chromebook. Our teachers have planned many exciting class trips, and we have a fun-filled year ahead.
A packet with important start-of-school information was mailed to all families last week.

School start times:

Doors open: 7:30 AM (for breakfast or early arrival)

Students need be in the building no later than 8:10 AM

First days of school:

September 4 & 5: 1-session days, dismissal at 12:40 PM

September 8: Regular schedule begins, dismissal at 2:40 PM

Student safety reminders:
-
Drop-off: Please use the side closest to the school to avoid crossing traffic.

Walking: Cross streets at crosswalks and follow crossing guards’ instructions.
Please remember that if you are picking your child up after school, you need to park in the lot on Palisade and walk to the school to get your child.

Uniforms: Information on Cover Stitches, our school uniform vendor, is in the next section.
We want every student to have a positive experience at middle school. As middle school is a time of change and growth, we emphasize respect and kindness toward one another. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any concerns—we want to address issues early, before they grow.
PTO Involvement:
We are still in need of PTO officers and would love your support. Being part of the PTO is a rewarding way to help ensure your children get the most out of school. Please reach out if interested.
Staying Engaged:

Ask your children daily about what they are learning.

Monitor their progress in the Parent Portal, which is now open.

A Weekly Update goes out every Friday which provides information on upcoming dates, events, and highlights from the building.
