Why do we give ATLAS Interims?
ATLAS Interims are an important checkpoint that helps our teachers see how students are progressing toward grade-level Arkansas standards. The results help us identify areas of strength, find learning gaps, and adjust instruction to better meet students' needs. In other words, the assessments help us understand what students have learned so far and what they are ready to learn next.
We want our Wildcats to be ready, rested, and prepared to show what they know! Families can help by:
😴 Making sure your student gets plenty of sleep each night
🥣 Starting the day with a healthy breakfast (Breakfast Served at Walker from 7:15-7:40 AM and is FREE everyday!)
⏰ Making sure your student arrives at school by 7:40 a.m.
🏫 Planning for your student to be at school for the entire school day and avoiding early checkouts for appointments when possible
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Wildcats do their very best! 💜🐾
Want to learn more about ATLAS?
The Arkansas Department of Education has created a Family Toolkit with helpful information, videos, FAQs, and resources for understanding ATLAS assessments and student results.
🎧 ALL Students Need Headphones (Please Send Your Child w/a Pair)
🎧 Reminder: All students need to have their own pair of headphones at school. If you have not already done so, please purchase headphones and send them with your child as soon as possible. Thank you for helping ensure your child is ready to learn!
🎨 Reminder: Pay Supply Fee
🚗 Car Tag Reminder: Please Keep Your Car Tag Visible
For the safety and efficiency of our car line, car tags must remain up and visible throughout the entire car line process.
Here’s why:
📢 One staff member is calling students to the porch.
📣 Another staff member is using the megaphone to call the assigned loading spot for your child.
🚗 Our staff must then see your car tag when we load your child into the vehicle.
Keeping your car tag visible helps our staff quickly identify your child and ensures that students are loaded into the correct vehicle and loading spot.
Please do not put your car tag down until you have exited the car line. Thank you for helping us keep our dismissal process safe, smooth, and efficient! 💜
