Principal's Message
Good Evening Yowell Families,
What a wonderful start we are having together — thank you for sharing your amazing kids with us each day. Their energy and smiles make our school a happy place to be! 🌟
This week, we will practice our second fire evacuation drill. We will announce the drill ahead of time so students know it’s just practice. Our first drill last week went perfectly and after this one we won’t need to practice again until mid-September.
Fifth-Grade Families — exciting news! Our 5th Grade Band is back! Students will have the chance to actually try out instruments before choosing what they want to play. Options include flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and baritone. Band classes begin the week of September 15th! There is more info in our weekly newsletter and a paper will be coming home with students in the weekly Tuesday folder.
Don’t forget — CCPS is offering a Chromebook Protection Plan for grades 1–5. For $30, it covers two accidental breakages for the year. Details, including repair prices without the plan, are in our newsletter.
As bus routes settle, please remember to check the CCPS Dismissal Log daily to see the exact time your child left Yowell. It’s updated live, and I highly recommend saving the link to your phone for quick access.

Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here. Also, this is the direct link to transportation.
Parents of students Pre-K through Grade 3 are expected to meet their children at the bus stop. Failure to do so will result in the child(ren) being returned to school. Should you choose to allow your child(ren) to be dropped off without supervision in the afternoon, please fill out and return this document.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.

School Resource Officer (SRO)
We are happy to have a School Resource Officer (SRO) this year at Yowell. You can contact Deputy Brandon Mack with any concerns you have with school safety or anything that would be related to criminal activity.
