GOHS Choir Scores BIG at SCVA
Our Choir Program is proud to share exciting news following its participation in the Southern California Vocal Association festival—one of the most important and competitive events of the year. This festival provides an opportunity for our students to revisit and perform the pieces they have been refining since the fall, showcasing both their growth and dedication.
Student performances are evaluated in two categories—Sight-Reading and Performance—and are scored using the following scale: Superior (the highest rating), Excellent, Fair, and Participatory.
We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of both of our ensembles:
Concert Choir earned an Excellent rating in Sight-Reading, just one point shy of the Superior range, and an Excellent rating in Performance, demonstrating strong musicianship and preparation.
Advanced Treble Choir achieved Superior ratings in both Sight-Reading and Performance, the highest distinction possible, reflecting exceptional skill, focus, and artistry.
These results are a testament to the talent, commitment, and perseverance of our student musicians, as well as the dedication of our outstanding choir program. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and grateful for the continued support of our families and community.
Congratulations to all of our choir students on representing Great Oak with excellence and pride!
A Season of Excellence for the Spirit of Great Oak!
Great Oak’s Performing Arts programs continue to impress, building on the momentum of an already outstanding festival season. Following the choir program’s recent success, our instrumental and visual ensembles have delivered remarkable achievements across multiple competitions.
The Great Oak Symphonic Band earned unanimous Superior ratings from all judges—an exceptional accomplishment that reflects both musical excellence and disciplined preparation. Meanwhile, the Great Oak Drumline captured the title of WGI Regional Champion in the PSO Division, further solidifying its reputation as one of the top programs in the country. In fact, Drumline is currently ranked 5th in the nation in overall scoring within Percussion Scholastic Open.
Adding to the celebration, the Varsity Color Guard earned 1st Place in Scholastic A at a recent competition hosted at Murrieta Mesa, showcasing their artistry, precision, and performance strength.
Great Oak is also proud to serve as a hub for the performing arts community this spring. During Spring Break, our campus will host two major events:
The West Coast Winter Guard Championships, featuring over 60 performing groups
The Southern California Percussion Alliance Championships, featuring more than 50 groups
These events bring together talented students from across the region and offer a unique opportunity to experience the energy and excitement of high-level competition right here on campus.
We are incredibly proud of our student performers and directors for their dedication, talent, and commitment to excellence. Bravo to all of our Great Oak Performing Arts students for continuing to bring the spirit of the Wolfpack to life!

Wolfpack Science Olympiad Teams Excel at Regional Competition
Great Oak’s Science Olympiad teams competed at the Inland Empire Regional Science Olympiad, facing off against 35 other high school teams from the region. Our Wolfpack students delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 1st and 3rd in the region!
A total of 45 students participated across the three teams, bringing home an impressive 89 individual medals—a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and scientific skill. For many of these students, this marked their fifth competition of the season, highlighting their commitment and perseverance.
The season will conclude with one team of 15 students advancing to the State competition on April 11, representing Great Oak with pride. Thank you to our families, staff, and community for supporting these talented students throughout an incredible season!
Wolfpack Spirit on Full Display at Student vs. Staff Basketball Game
Great Oak students and staff brought the energy, fun, and friendly competition to the court during this year’s Student vs. Staff Basketball Game! The event was filled with laughter, cheers, and some impressive basketball moves from both sides of the gym.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our Wolfpack community to come together, showcase school spirit, and enjoy a little healthy rivalry. Whether sinking three-pointers or cheering from the sidelines, everyone played a part in making the game memorable.
A huge thank you to all students and staff who participated and helped make the event such a success. Your enthusiasm and sportsmanship truly represent the spirit of Great Oak!
AP/IB Testing Proctors Needed
We will need your help to proctor more than 2,600 AP exams and over 500 IB exams in May. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any graduations tickets as we have in years past.
Below, you can find the Sign-up genius links to help proctor. Please review the testing schedule to see when you may be available to support our students.
Proctoring is very easy, and we couldn't do it without you. Each test already has a lead proctor, so now we need additional proctors to help monitor students.
We appreciate your time! Your help saves thousands of dollars each year that go back into resources, supplies for students, and teacher training.
Note: You cannot proctor an exam for a test your student is taking, so please check with them before signing up.

#BetheOne to Celebrate Our Diversity at GOHS!
Celebrating Women's History Month
This month GOHS celebrates women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. Women’s History Month has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987. Women’s History Month is an opportunity to highlight powerful women who fought against injustice and to reflect on the political, cultural, and socioeconomic achievements of women worldwide. Women’s History is American History and should be taught year round. March is another opportunity to highlight Women who have positively influenced and enriched our Nation and society.
National Disabilities Awareness Month
In 1987 Ronald Regan officially declared Proclamation 5613 making the month of March National Disabilities Awareness Month. The proclamation called for people to provide understanding, encouragement and opportunities to help persons with disabilities to lead productive and fulfilling lives. March is a time to take extra steps to raise awareness about the rights of the people with disabilities and to celebrate their contributions to our communities and society as a whole! We would also like to acknowledge the endless commitment and dedication of our educators who have committed their careers to serving our differently abled students.
PBIS: A Reminder About Dress Code
Please make sure that all students adhere to the TVUSD Policy for Dress and Grooming 5132:

Clothing shall be sufficient to conceal undergarments and buttocks. No underwear, undergarments, or clothing that is comparable to undergarments (e.g, bathing suits that resemble the same coverage of an undergarment) may be visible at any time. Clothing may not be see-through or mesh if underwear is visible underneath.
